Angie was tired in a way that no fight had ever left her. Sure, she’d had adrenaline crashes before, and the exhaustion that came with even the most vague proximity to her grandmother. There was also the bone-deep weariness that leaving Charming and being more alone than she’d ever felt before had brought. Nothing rivaled this. Angie was crumpled in her chair as nurses moved around her. Being in the ER wasn’t fun, and she was already having visions of the bill that would come. Texting helped..the snippets she could catch from the hospital staff wasn’t nearly enough to keep her from worrying over everyone she knew. At least the meeting wasn’t a place for kids - thank god it wasn’t a place for kids. Lily was safe with her grandparents, and hopefully everyone’s kids were somewhere safe, too. It seemed to take forever to get all of her tests done and read..at least everything came back that she wasn’t injured too badly. Bruised and banged up, yes. Sore as hell, definitely. In any mortal danger, in need of surgery? Nope. Thankfully. Especially when there were those who were seriously hurt. Let the doctors focus on those who mattered. She walked out of the maze-like halls to where she’d asked Charlie to meet her. One arm curled around her middle, and an array of bruises and cuts adorned what skin was visible. there was more beneath her clothes, still dirty from the footprints of the panicked. When he finally was in view, she offered an apologetic smile. “Thanks..I couldn’t think of anyone else to call.” It was a lie. She could have tried a few different people. In truth, she wanted to see Charlie.
