It had been a week or so since everything had happened, and had it not been for the fact that he cousin was getting married, she'd most likely be in bed like she had been all week after calling in sick to work for the first time since she’d started. She knew it had been too soon to get all excited about her pregnancy, but she had and as a result, reality had been a lot harder pill to swallow then it might have been if she hadn’t.. or so she kept telling herself. Standing by the bar after the reception, Verity was nurturing a gin and tonic, asking the bartender to do her one solid and use a regular glass so she could pass it up as a simple sparkling water, while letting her eyes wander the room. She wasn’t looking for anyone in particular, however her eyes had eventually landed on the last person she’d wanted them to. Her heart dropped slightly in her chest at the sight of him, even more so when she noticed that he wasn’t alone, and ever further the moment their eyes locked.
