Everfresh Studios: A Personal Tour by Rone
Melbourne (Australia)
Whenever I asked someone in Australia where I should go, they said Everfresh Studio. It’s a place where the artists Sync, Phibs, Reka, Rone, Wonderlust, Prizm, Meggs, Makatron and The Tooth have their personal studios. And whether it was Anthony Lister or the guys who run The Opening Hours; all of them said it was the mecca of street art in the country. So, I sent the studio an email.
Most of the guys were away. But RONE responded. So, I took the hour flight from Sydney to Melbourne to meet him.
The address he gave me was so hidden that my cab driver got lost and let me out in an nondescript alley. Eventually making my way to the studio’s large unmarked warehouse with the help of Google Maps. There’s a book about the history of the space named Everfresh: Blackbook: The Studio & Streets: 2004-2010, so I won’t spoil all those cool tidbits here.
RONE was hands-down the chillest dude ever. He showed me the studio, his process of creating art, and even drew out a map of all the best pieces to see around town. Which took me two full days of active walking to complete. Wonderlust and Callum “The Tooth” Preston were also there and also the nicest people ever.
For Travelers
You cannot get into Everfresh Studios. The guys were going to have it open to the public and so many people responded that they had to cancel. Check out RONE’s message about it HERE.
