Jack had heard rumors of an abandoned castle holding a magical treasure. Supposedly, there was an enchanted scroll that could reveal a map of a special treasure. Jack was determined to see how true this rumor was.
Unsure of how abandoned the castle actually was, Jack made sure to sneak in the back way. He stuck mostly to the shadows until the sun fully set and he was under the cloak of darkness. He found himself a place within the gardens overlooking the lake. There was a swan swimming nearby, but Jack didn’t pay it any attention.
He watched the last rays of the sun sink out of view and the moon rise into the sky. He grinned as the shadows spread and began to creep out from his hiding place. He stopped suddenly as a strange noise filled the air and water swirled around the swan, making it disappear from view for a few minutes before dispersing and revealing a beautiful young woman.
“That’s not something one sees everyday.” Jack said to no one in particular, cocking an eyebrow and staring at her with a confused look. Was she meant to be a sort of guard dog for the scroll? He was going to have to find out.
