     Jake couldn’t believe that he was sitting alone at a fancy restaurant. He had been waiting there for an hour. Although it had been very obvious that he had been stood up. It was suppose to be a blind date that friends had set him up with. Instead of wasting the trip here, he decided to order food anyways. It was a little embarrassing but it was something that he had gotten used to. Quickly sitting there as he waited for his food to arrive.

“So turns out the head is retiring next month and they want me to take over. I don’t know how to feel about this.”

Jake was sweaty and completely out of breath when he made his way back to his house. Noticing someone standing by his door, jogging up to them. He put his hands on his knees as he tried to talk. “H... I... give me a moment.”

“So, can I be honest? When you messaged me saying you wanted to meet, I didn’t really expect the whole meal and drinks thing. I mean, I’m not complaining. The food was great. I just - I guess it’s surprising.”
