"dating to marry is weird" is a statement so grounded into woke mindset that it just ruined the whole point of being woke. it depends on the people's view on what marriage is. if they're dating solely to find someone to marry regardless of the person, it obviously is bad, but come on, we're not stupid, we know dating to marry means finding someone we're gonna be with forever. there's nothing wrong with marriage, and i think that it's better to be married, being linked and established by law, having them as your actual husband/wife/partner officially then simply dating them because of a stupid mindset. now i'm not saying people dating should automatically marry, it's simply a call for a long term lasting relationship, and setting the boundary that u have no intention of breaking up except if something terrible happens, that u won't get "bored" of them, won't dump them randomly one day or another, easy as that. dating as a whole is pretty blurry and can be interpretated differently, but in my opinion you shouldn't date in the first place if you're unsure or just "experimenting", if you don't feel a bond, don't force it. if you do feel one, and the bond is mutual, eventually things will escalate naturally, and you'll very probably end up married, a beautiful marriage with lots of flowers and cake and sex and not some forced abusing marriage. you don't just marry anyone obviously, the problem is not people who want to get married to their other half but people who want to get married to someone who isn't their other half. that's what should be criticized, not innocents looking for a lasting relationship with their loved one. if you think marriage equals abuse then you should get checked, married people indeed suffer from abuse but anyone can, even in a short term relationship, in a "date for fun" relationship, or even without dating at all, it's not because you're married, it's cause you're linking (willingly or unwillingly) with sick people and it's not your fault, but marriage doesn't enhance that factor. stop referring marriage as the end of the world, we're sane people not stupid white blonds in their 40s in a failed marriage with an alcoholic fat husband blaming their marital problems into the system. choose your partners wisely. read tags
