Alphonso Rawls was at the forefront of the onslaught of new tricks that hit vert ramps in the late 1980s. Along with a few of his friends, Alf escorted in a new era of tricks that went from unheard-of to the new standard within a few short years. Street, mini-ramp, vert— whatever was in front of him Alf ripped it. Here’s an Ollie blunt, as it was known at the time, at #mcgillscarlsbadskatepark sometime in the late 80s.
