30 Days of Magic Brainstorming - Day 1
Go to your bathroom, and pick one item or room-specific action and brainstorm about its magical uses.
TOOTHBRUSH. BRUSHING TEETHS. BLURSHIBNG THEEFSGHJK -
I just realized, the humble toothbrush has loads of magical possibilities and I had never considered this before at all.
You want to start someone off on a long slow ride to misery-ville? Curse their toothbrush / dental health. The bacterial balance (or imbalance) in your mouth environment impacts more than "just" teeth and gums - it's been tied to a wide variety of other conditions from acne to heart disease to bone cancer.
This isn't, of course, simple cause-and-effect, but a gradual build-up of interrelated and interacting problems that contribute to the more severe conditions. But oral health is a definite anchor point in the web of wellbeing, to strengthen or sever as fits your purposes.
If you are someone who, like me, has real trouble with "simple" self-care routines like brushing and flossing, you could do some simple things with your toothbrush, magically, to encourage yourself to use it. Make it into a magical tool for applying glamours, to "freshen" up your smile's appeal or your speech's power. Use the act of brushing to remove negative influences from your speech, blood, heart, bones.
I'm sure there are dozens more possibilities I haven't thought of yet, and I'ma try to develop a few of these ideas into more fleshed-out magics.
Things this equinox has brought up from the buried parts of me:
I fuckin' love to dance like nobody's business. More dance in ritual / devotions yuss yuss
Trees are still my friends ;u;
Making up songs / altering ones with great tunes is THE BEST. Literally the best. I may post a couple of altered-songs, if anyone wants ideas. Otherwise I'll keep 'em to my onesie 'cause I know that is not everybody's jam.
mundanely magic stuff from today
-fed the taller compost bottle-tower veggie scraps from last night's roast dinner, deadfall leaves, coffee grounds, & paper towel cardboard tube
-cleaned out three glass jars and a tin for future spellwork use
-cleared out loads of negativity from the kitchen in general
-knit summore
-freshened up an altar dish with new-fallen snow
-reinforced New Year's spellwork summore with yoga & self-care. It has been a full two weeks and the effects are still rippling outwards. Like my energy & mood throughout the day/week, its staying power goes through ups & downs, but generally I am quite pleased with the efficacy given how basic the spell felt. Seems it's got a sound structure and good resonance with me, probably a keeper.

note to self, re: cleaning
This makes you feel SO MUCH BETTER when you are getting anxious / overly self-critical. Just LOOK at all the SPACE you cleared on that crafts table, you did that and it is nice and now your home feels a lot nicer of a place to be c:
Tidying up be powerful ritual magics. Do not let brain trick you into thinking it's tedious, brain is a jerk sometimes.
Maybe if I tidy just an eensy bit every couple days or so, Imbolc's MASSIVE CLEAN will not feel so staggeringly massive and will go smoother. Yes this sounds like a good idea.
