(For the WIP thing) sunlight / music / gold 😁

Hello, love. Would you look at that. I found something. And all from the same WIP.

I wobbled out of Younghyun’s motorcycle, dropped down to my knees on the concrete, and regretted it as soon as my bare skin touched the hot surface. Speed did not rank high on my list of Likes, so the dizzying sensation outweighed searing on the ground. He pulled me up by the elbow and I squinted against the midsummer sunlight. Liquid heat rose from cobble path along road despite the thick canopy of trees lining the avenue.

The driver came around to the rear door of the limo and opened it. Party music washed out, something with a hard and solid bass beat. There was a moment’s pause, and then a man glided out. He was tall, pale as a statue. Golden hair crowned his head, pushed up to reveal his forehead and his startling mercury eyes. He was dressed as a prince, cream colored double breasted jacket and trousers, decorated in gold and platinum trimming on the shoulders and the sides, and shiny black leather knee-high boots. On his waist, was a fine, delicately made sword, the handle of which looked like it was made of glass. Nichkhun was such a show-off.

“I didn’t know you were invited,” Winter said, walking over to him.

Nichkhun smiled brightly as he slipped on his white gloves, the cuffs decorated in winding gold designs. “Well I am a prince.”

Fallen, but a prince nonetheless.

1. Favorite place to write.

I have a work desk that has all my stuff arranged on it– books, notebooks, pens, everything and it’s become my “spot”. but i also like going outside, like to a coffee shop nearby, to write. sometimes i just need the white noise of being anonymous in a crowd to get my mind to shut about everything else not about the story.

20. Post a snippet of a WIP you’re working on.

When he blinks— which he does about a million times per second— his eyelids look heavy and sluggish. But he’s totally awake. Typical Jae.

44. Best piece of feedback you’ve ever gotten.

Does this count? HAHAHA Okay. Seriously. The best piece of feedback I’ve ever received is from a “rejection” letter I received a couple of years ago. They told me that for a first-time writer, my command and tone of language and nuances of details is astounding and is indicative of my general ability and I should not stop writing. They go on to say I shouldn’t lack courage to have my work read, and even though the fear and insecurity never goes away, I think about these words a lot and they help me through moments of severe self-doubt.

Read. And Write. And don’t stop.

offering: how do you show others you are fond of them?

i write them stuff. or try to. i’m terrible at showing my affection, and often i’m too awkward to even try. but ugh there are people i really want to stay in touch with all day everyday but i don’t want to seem like a bother? or too needy? so i truly struggle with this aspect of relationships.

marking: describe your tattoos,or tattoos you would like in the future?

i’ve thought about this before, and maybe a birthday or three from now i’ll get a tattoo of an anchor on the inside of my left ring finger. and “ love; “ on my left wrist.
