The way I take it, p3's protagonist seems like the type of person that will always make the same choice he's made in the end, over and over, no matter what it takes, since he's always lived his life to his fullest in that one year we've seen him and that's where it's led up to. (It's really sad.. but beautiful I think) It reminds me of the concept of eternal return which suggests that you live the same life forever as a cycle, so that's exactly why you must try to live a life you won't regret.

He's tried his best to do that, and every one of his friends will do the same in their own ways of life
