Be kind and patient with people
Just a quick little thing before I get ready for work: So, I posted the same pictures I posted on here to Instagram earlier today and quickly got a response from a girl (about the same age as I am) which read: "Horrible and really FAT." At first I got angry, this girl has no right to judge me or my body! Then I started feeling very down about myself. So out of pure curiosity I visited her page and scrolled through her pictures because this girl had to be in fantastically great shape to be saying really mean things to me. It took me a minute, but then I noticed a picture of a very sickly, skinny person. I clicked on it, it was her. She suffers from anorexia. I automatically felt a sense of relief and also of guilt. This poor girl seems to be lashing out at other people who are seemingly proud of their bodies because mentally she can't do the same for hers. So in response, I deleted the first picture and reposted it with this message: "Lets get one thing straight here. I'm not perfect. I'm not a size 0. I don't have long flowing hair. I don't have perfect skin. But damn it, I have confidence in myself. If you want to tell me I look horrible and that I'm really fat go for it, because I'm proud of what I was born with. I'm not anorexic or bulimic, and I like food. I like my curves. Am I a bit chunky? Hell yeah I am. But the difference between you and me? I can accept what I am and you're still fighting what you are. I really truely hope you realize you're beautiful the way you are before your sickness ends up killing you." If someone says something mean or rude to you, it's probably because they themselves are struggling to be happy. So be kind to those people, they need it the most.
