3/3 completed self-portrait as a part of the collaborative artists mural that will be up at the Columbus international airport. I’m not the best at portraits but I enjoyed the exploration in this project. You’ll find me being unapologetically myself in this picture, fitting into Columbus completely with my Indian identity... typical Madras-Malli-poo in my hair (string of jasmine flowers), long jhumka earrings, and mookutthi (the diamond nose stud). :) #donatospizza #gcac #everypieceisimportant (at Columbus, Ohio)

Here is the completed portrait 2/3 for the mural that will go up at the John Glenn Columbus international airport. I’ve already dropped these off and will get to know more information soon. But until then... This portrait features Happy Harold. Happy Harold is one of the nicest and happiest people you’ll meet in this city, he drives the WC bus around Ohio State. When we see one another, we both get extremely happy, hug one another and keep saying, ‘you’re the best, you’re great, you make my day’ to one another. I always leave lighter after talking to him. With a job that has you catering to hundreds of students everyday, it made his day the first time when I asked him what his name was. It was a huge indication of how important it is for anyone to be seen, and acknowledged. One of three portraits for a collaborative mural project that will be installed at Columbus’s John Glenn International Airport featuring folks from Columbus, sponsored by Donatos/Touchstone Hospitality and Greater Columbus Arts Council. #EveryPieceIsImportant This is Jim. Him being homeless doesn’t stop him from being happy and he’s someone I keep encountering frequently, out on the streets of Columbus before it became comfortably home. He’s a warm human being, and always keep smiling and makes your day better. You can find Jim on High Street outside the Newport Music Hall, he’s even in the google maps, streetview.
