Fugues in the Key of X is one of the last great archives of old school X-files Fanfic that still exists today. It’s one of the only places you can find a lot of high quality pre-2005 stories. I just want to encourage everyone to download as much as you can from this archive before it, too, goes the way of so many archives before it.

Again, this was one of the top archives for quality XF writing in the early aughts.

honestly im really not enjoying s5. like its not that the structure has changed so much as that the empathy has been sucked out? i loved the earlier seasons as an anthology of complicated personal traumas from unique characters and i liked to think about what happened to past statement givers after their story ended but this season has been a parade of pointless inescapable misery, there is no agency for the victims, no past or future or choice or even voice in ability to express their own experiences and tbh i grow less capable of caring about our mcs as they cease to care about the victims themselves

#like i know on my blog #i focus a lot on avatars of past seasons bc the becoming a monster thing is fascinating characterwise (when it doesnt humanize irl monsters #like cops) but in s5 theres nobody capable of talking to jon except them and there isnt even any depth to their perspectives jons just #showing up to kill them and snack on the terror theyve caused and like some cute scenes with martin doesnt make up for how horrible #everything else is #the detached scientific tone of the last ep makes me sick
