thinking about the memory tweezers
So, memory tweezers exist. You can use them to get a photo of someone's memories, and the picture is even from third person, so it looks like an actual photo that was taken of them. Highschool students learn how to use them, so they don't seen to be incredibly difficult to use or obtain, once you make sure to be careful . They can even be used by non-witches, as Luz is able to both pull out someone else's memories, and get her own ones retrieved. I could therefore see these being a household item for anyone living on the Boiling Isles! This leads me to some ideas...
You could totally use them to enhance a story. Imagine a grandpa telling a group of witchlings a long story about that thing he experienced that one time. He thinks really hard about a specific detail, then reaches into his ear and pulls out a photo to show everyone his actual memory of it. Conjuring a photo out of your ear: it's like magic, but actually! :D
If Amity or Eda actually do end up losing their Grom photos after keeping them in precarious places where they fall out of, then yes, that sucks because those photos were specific pictures of the event. But to try to make up for it, they COULD just go to photo class the next day, tell Luz to think about the fun parts of Grom night, then reach into her ear and take out several photos. Seriously, they really could..!
Additionally, you'd get to see photos that weren't even captured at Grom, like, yknow, the majestic Lumity takedown of Grom that only three people were witness to. What a bonus! I bet Amity would love to have a picture of them together there. And you know what? She actually could! There's a device that lets you literally do that!!!
Memory tweezers are 100% capable of getting someone to relive their past memories that they'd rather forget, but they also make for a such a cool, fun little tool! Imagine the suspense and then surprise you feel when picking out a photo, not knowing what it could be... They're basically an interactive camera that comes with a lot of risk (unwanted memories showing up), but also reward! \o/
