since it's pride month a lot of asexuals have been coming forwards and in general being pretty intolerant and ignorant about the history of pride parades and the struggles of the LGBT community as a whole and are making most people stressed out about being in their own safe spaces. It's overall a couple of people being hateful and vicious about them not "being allowed" to have a safe space from sexual expression at pride despite pride being about safety in sexual expression
i’m not saying there hasn’t been some genuine Gross Shit going around, but the posts i have in mind is when a post is phrased slightly weird, and people slap the word ‘homophobic’ on it, even if the misdirected phrasing isn’t even in a homophobic essence
like e.g my friend answered an ask the other day (someone asked how they identified etc) and words are tricky at the best of time, so their slightly wonky phrasing of some things suddenly had 100+ notes of people calling them a phobe, even though there still wasn’t anything phoby in it, almost exclusively because my friend idents as ace/aro and they tried to explain how they experience their own life etc
So i guess the way i’m thinking about this situation, is people see an innocent post from an ace person about how they don’t experience various things, and then act like the person was throwing shade at people who do and are big bad phobes because of this ‘’’’evidence’’’ even though they werent replying/correcting at anyone
idk, man, life is fucking messy and feelings are even messyer, and yeah people can miss the point or not take every point of view into consideration when making a quick post for the internet, but shit almost NOBODY is keeping tabs on every POV at any stage anyway, ya feel? like let people make mistakes, let people struggle to put complex human experience/emotions in words, and dont treat every slight /thing/ as someone trying to wave off everyone else’s lives
people arent out here making huge essays with bibliographies everytime they have a thought about something, its not supposed to be perfect
