Day 22 - Favorite book cover
I just love the full cover for Everything’s Eventual. The front cover with the drop of blood in the glass is effective enough but the carnage on the back cover dials it up to ten.
do you like different seasons? or what is your favorite novella collection/just some novellas you like?? i love sk's shorter stories!! demands less from my poor attention span HAHA
Great questions! I’ve read all stories in ‘Different Seasons’ BUT ‘The Breathing Method!’ I really need to re-read ‘Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption’ because it’s been a long time but I really love all those 3 (Especially ‘The Body’!)! I don’t think I’ll be re-reading Apt Pupil though.. it’s a... very unsettling story.
I also really love King’s short stories & novellas! For whole collections, so far I’ve read:
Skeleton Crew
Nightmares & Dreamscapes
Hearts in Atlantis
Just After Sunset
Everything’s Eventual
Full Dark, No Stars
If It Bleeds
Currently reading: The Bazaar of Bad Dreams
And randomly I’ve also read ‘Secret Garden, Secret Window’!
My favorite collection so far was probably ‘Nightmares & Dreamscapes’ minus the story ‘Dedication’ which was like the worst thing I ever read...
Some of my FAVORITE short stories/novellas (in no special order) have been:
The Ballad of The Flexible Bullet, Survivor Type, The Raft, Word Processer of The Gods, The Mist (Skeleton Crew)
Sorry Right Number, Chattery Teeth, You Know They Got a Hell of a Band, The End of The Whole Mess, The Moving Finger, My Pretty Pony, The Night Flier, Popsy, Sneakers, Umney’s Last Case (N&D)
Stationary Bike, The Gingerbreal Girl, Willa, The Cat From Hell, The New York Times at Special Bargain Rates, Mute, N., A Very Tight Place (Just After Sunset)
Autopsy Room 4, All That You Love Will Be Carried Away, Riding The Bullet, The Road Virus Heads North, L.T.'s Theory of Pets, The Man in the Black Suit (Everything’s Eventual)
1922, A Good Marriage, Fair Extension, Big Driver, (Full Dark, No Stars)
Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption, The Body (Different Seasons)
Hearts in Atlantis (Hearts in Atlantis)
Life of Chuck, Mr. Harrigan’s Phone, If It Bleeds, Rat (If It Bleeds)
Sorry this is so long!!! Thank you for this question!!!!
(Feel free to send me any King related questions!!!)
can someone tell me why stephen king chose to name the class of psychic powers in his short story “Everything’s Eventual” published in the collection of the same name “trans.” why did he do that. i. why.
And good books don't give up all their secrets at once.

Creative people aren't always in charge. And when they do their best work, they're hardly ever in charge. They're just sort of rolling along with their eyes shut, yelling 'wheeeee'.
