EVERYTHING IS SOUND
Evan is downstairs by himself playing a rollicking blues on his keys. There’s so much power in his music. I close my eyes and feel the vastness of love swirl around the infinity that lies inside us. I can feel a warm fuzzy energy course through me.
The common scales have 7 notes. I’ve heard people mention that there are 7 chakras in our body, and that playing each note stimulates the corresponding chakra. Sounds cool, but I don’t have any experience of that. Or do I? I’m feeling a lot going on right now while listening to Evan play. I’m sure he has his eyes closed. It feels like his heart’s energy is pouring out at me, touching the place where music comes from.
Drawn in by the electromagnetic energy, I strap my bass on, float down the stairs and plug in. I haven’t experienced music like this before. So purified… so… unbounded.
Swept up in the sound and the everything and everything is sound. No sense of time or space until after the jam.
It’s over now. I now wonder what we even played.
When the intensity of the music really built up, it energized our youngest kitten to race up and down the stairs. Racing and racing with exuberance.
Now that we have settled down for the night, he is using me as a berm purring away, still lapping up the energies from all 7 notes, all 7 chakras.
