opinion on whats happening with russia and ukraine?

i have barely any idea, i was watching the news and its awful but i'm not sure what started it but people are calling it the trigger of the next world war, and i think englands going to have to step in since russia has just occupied ukraine and ugh i didn't do history or politics so i suck at understanding all this
