Evolution Series #1 - Adult Stage

Evolution Path: Boi > Chu > Ulie > Modernich

I am very surprised at this evolution. I definitely did not achieve my goal of maxing out Jonas’s Training, but I also took relatively bad care of it. As you can see in my data post (you can get to it by clicking on the “Data Post” section above), I usually allowed Jonas’s Happy and Full meters to drop to around 3 circles, more or less, before proceeding to fill them all the way. I did this consistently throughout Jonas’s time as a Ulie, and Modernich was the result. According to my data, I took bad care and good care of Jonas, repeatedly letting his values drop only to fill them again instead of maintaining them at their maximum values. I also took a precautionary measure again any misleading data by using an Inspector, also shown in the data post. The Inspector stated that Jonas would evolve into a Modernich, but could use improvement in Discipline, or Training. In my thought process, this could mean two things. First, it could mean that Happy and Full meter care cancels each other out. If you take bad care of your Pakka, you can correct it with good care in the form of feeding your pet, and vice versa. Second, it could mean that Happy and Full meters play a very small role in evolution, with the main emphasis placed on Training, which is a secondary effect of feeding your pet (the main effect is the effect it has on the Happy and Full meters, evolve points are also secondary). Either way, more research is needed to provide an conclusive theory on Pakka evolution, this is my first Evolution Series after all! Now that I am ready for another egg, I am open to any suggestions you have as to what you want researched, send me a message and I’ll see what I can do. If I receive no messages, I’ll start a new egg with no goal in mind at around 12:00 AM UTC.

A preface is needed for this post since it is not the next main post for the Evolution Series. Rather, this post purely consists of my data. I had many, many screenshots, and even after narrowing the pictures down to the most essential ones, I still reached an image limit. I will create a link to the next Evolution Series post next to the (Previous Post) section above.

Due to college, I am not always able to maintain the best care for my Pakka, but in this case I was okay with my negligence because it helped me to discover something new.  As you can see, I didn’t take the best care of Jonas while it was a Ulie, but Jonas still evolved into Modernich, which seems to be a “high-maintenance” Pakka, but not the most demanding evolution for the Checkered Egg. I will go into more detail in the following post.

Notes

All pictures above are screenshots of Jonas BEFORE I proceeded to fill its Happy and Full meters, and fix any values that needed to be fixed, like Jonas’s Weight. This could be an inconsistency in my data as even though Jonas received bad care from me, it also received good care in return. 

Jonas’s Weight became Chubby at 4:35, and reverted back to Healthy at 7:30. Jonas also became Sick, Smelly, and Sleepy at 7:28, and all of these were fixed at 7:30.

Look at that, some results! I was able to keep up with my Pakka throughout the day, routinely maxing its Happy and Full meters, and tending to what ever its needs were. However, as you can see in the stat screens above, there were some moments where Jonas’s Happy and Full meters fell when it was a Chu. I am unsure as to how long it takes for a circle to degrade, so exactly how long Jonas was neglected is unknown. I assume it couldn’t be more than an hour or two. The stat screen at 5:59 was actually taken right before I evolved Jonas, which could prove my hypothesis (explained in more detail in the previous post). If Ulie is a Pakka that results from “high-maintenance” (I believe the other two Teen Stages for the Checkered Egg are lower maintenance Pakka, but more testing is probably needed to prove that), then Happy and Full values might play a very minimal role just prior to evolution. But there is something else to note, the low Happy and Full values might only affect evolution if a Food item is not used to speed up evolution. After using the the Food item, a Pakka’s H/F values could be raised, making it evolve in a “high-maintenance” condition, overshadowing the previous neglect if there was any. Essentially, there could be a huge difference in how much value is in Happy and Full, and maybe even other values like Training and Weight, when a Pakka evolves. Although what I’ve said makes sense conceptually, more testing is needed, and that is okay! 

Ulie is absolutely adorable by the way, I’m happy my high-maintenance payed off~

I was originally going to include a photo of Jonas’s stat screen as valuable data for this project, but unfortunately I forgot to do so. If anyone is curious, I believe the evolution occurred with Jonas only having one circle filled in for both Happy and Full, but I’m not sure of the other values. However, other than the moment of evolution, I had kept its Happy and Full meters at max. It was also Trained 3 times, slept as soon as it hit the “Sleepy” value for the Energy parameter, and was never sick or smelly (if the Baby Stages can even be smelly or sick in such a short amount of time). Because of this, it is safe to hypothesize that overall care affects Pakka Pets more than care just prior to evolution, but more information is needed for confirmation. I do believe that Pakka Pets essentially “reset” their values after evolution, and disproving that is another goal of mine in conducting this research.

All in all, I got my expected result, Chu. I believe it to be the “good care” Kid Stage for the Checkered Egg, but more research is probably necessary just to make sure. I have not seen the “best care” Teen Stage for this egg yet, so I think I will try for that. These “care” terms are definitely subject to change, I am just unsure what other phrase it could be substituted for with so little information at the moment.

Next time, I will be including the stat screen just prior to evolution and exactly after.

Evolution Series #1 - Baby Stage

Okay, so this is the start of a series of posts I hope to include indefinitely throughout this blog’s lifetime. In these posts, I will be discussing the evolution of Pakka Pets as well as how I believe I got to a certain evolution based on the analysis of a Pakka’s stat sheet. What I mean by this is, based on the various parameters the game developers included as factors in a Pakka Pet’s evolution, and based on how well I managed each of those parameters, I will try to determine which specific parameters correspond to a certain evolution. However, this is going to take some time and patience. From what I have researched online and observed in-game, the value each parameter has plays a huge role. For example, having your Pakka’s Training meter filled halfway will mostly likely get you a different result than if you had filled it less or more. But would a Pakka with a high Training value and a high Happy value evolve in the same way as a Pakka with the same Training level and a low Happy value? This is the kind of stuff I want to find out, even if it is trivial to some people. 

So, I guess I should discuss what I am trying to do with Jonas. Well, I thought it would be challenging for me to try to max out the Training of a Pakka Pet since I have not done so before. Also, I haven’t personally seen the results of a maxed out, Checkered Egg Pakka, so it will be interesting to see what results from my care. Also, just as a note, you cannot nickname your Pakka Pet currently. I just like to nickname mine because it creates an emotional attachment to that pet, at least for me anyway. I will post a continuation once Jonas evolves.
