white dragon
My recently finished minecraft project - took me a good while! The first time I’ve ever tried making a large-scale dragon, or a tree, at that. The dragon itself took about half a year, and the tree temple thingy about half that time - I found that the trunk - branch ratio was a bit skewed, but oh well, the leaves were done pretty nicely :)
given I had to juggle that with senior year, it was a bit of an on-off commitment kind of thing. I have to admit I’m pretty proud of it! At least it’s a far cry from my original birch plank cubicle at the edge of a jungle cliff 🙃
I came across this beautiful clearing close to my past recent build, the xuanwu tortoise from mdzs. Going along that theme, I was planning on making a kind of interpretation of mdzs lan clan lore. I kind of attempted to make a nod to lan yi, where she is posed as a reincarnation of the white snake - evolved dragon, which the xuanwu tortoise attempted to mimic. As a sort of monument to her invention of the ‘chord assasination technique’, I put a guzheng in the centre of the tree-shrine, and some lan banners hidden in the chests. Perhaps not exactly accurate, but it’s a pretty whimsical speculation - the lush cave where I built the xuanwu happens to be directly below this mountain clearing, and it lines up pretty nicely with the new build :) Cue building montage
It scrongly lookin’ that was rather painstaking I tried flying around and dropping blocks to make it spirally, but that turned out to be pretty pointless haha
Noodle phase! I made it a snake to begin with, before adding frills, arms n legs, a nice tail, and then horns! Kinda mirrored how white snakes can cultivate themselves into dragons in Chinese mythology, it’s a nice sentiment
More pain.
Could had made the base a bit thicker! I love all my children relatively equally though, I have to give myself some credit for finishing the tree-house shrine! It’s a pretty nice place to chill out, gives the place a bit of an interesting touch 🌸
Upcoming: the catreedral
Ouughhh what am I getting myself into
