Electronic Voice Phenomenon (EVP)
An Electronic Voice Phenomenon (EVP) is a anomalous sound on an audio recording that is interpreted as spirit voices. Typically EVPs are intentionally captured on digital recorders during paranormal investigations. These voices are sometimes random phrases, but most are in response to a question asked by the investigator.
EVP’s are considered genuine evidence of ghosts and are quite haunting to listen to. Some voices can’t be interpreted, but very clear voices are called “Class A” EVPs. These crystal clear voices can be made out word for word and are sometimes audible through the human ear. The TV show Ghost Adventures makes capturing EVP’s necessary when investigating haunted locations. They have captured everything from threats to thank you’s from spirits. So next time you go to a haunted location bring a digital recorder, and listen close to hear the voices of the dead.
