Dear Evelyn Reardon,

You popped into my thoughts today, and I wanted to see how you are doing, now that the pressures of school have stopped for the summer. I know the Daily Prophet never has comforting news, but I sincerly hope that being home with your family is putting your mind at some ease.  Frank, Kingsley (did you ever meet Kingsley, he's a lovely chap) and I had our first Auror-in-Training meeting the other day and it was everything I thought it would be; exciting, terrifying and promising. Though, I must admit, going to The Ministry as an employee feels far too grown up. I suppose that's what happens as you get older. Please write if you'd like to, I would love to hear your news. All girls together. || Ev and Alice.

It was a good thing she had other duties or Alice might spend the entirety of her seventh year in the library or asleep. She was split down the middle about taking breaks from studying. Sometimes, it was hard to concentrate and every second spent reading or writing was agony. Sometimes she didn't want to tear away from her studies. Alice had the tendency to get very involved in a subject and go over-and-above the requirement. Sometimes Frank had to remind her how many other subjects she did, lest she spend all her time on one and not enough on the others. Today, she was thankful for the excuse to stretch her legs and back. Her mind was still full of Magical Concealment, which was something she'd been looking forward to learning about all year. She loved the idea of being able to change her hair colour or go invisible. Her mind full of theory, she almost didn't hear the raised voices or see the girl now coming round the corner. It was dark here, down by the hallway which led up to the Great Hall. Alice had just been patrolling down by Slytherin Common Room, and was about to loop round by Hufflepuff. "Is everything alright?" She called, the girl looked a little shaken.
