her approach is silent, swift; spending years living like an alley cat has kept her light on her feet, and so it is without warning that she drops in a heap beside orpheus. her crooked grin only grows as she slings an arm around him, head coming to rest against his shoulder. “ ‘n what’re you working on this time, love? ” she asks, half a jab, but all in jest. she leans in and kisses his collar. her eyes land on the weathered songbook before him, the cheap graphite of the pencil in his grasp leaving behind a metallic sheen. a lump unexpectedly forms in eurydice’s throat. she swallows it down, as best as she can. “ I miss you, when you get like this… ” she trails off.
orpheus's body had unconsciously relaxed as he had felt eurydice slide in snuggly next to him, the touch welcomed as she draped her arm around him. feeling his wife's head on his shoulder, orpheus rested his cheek against the top of her head- pencil tapping against the paper, brows furrowed in thought. orpheus had been sitting there for awhile, probably a few good hours at this point. it had to be.. perfect. the man's eyes hadn't strayed from the paper as his head turned to listen to eury, eyes soon following as they looked down upon her.
the words she spoke made his chest ache. she.. missed him? he was right here! did.. did he really go elsewhere when trying to finish his music? the thought cause orpheus to shiver- immediately setting down the parchment. granite stained hands moved to wrap his arms around eurydice's waist, dark eyes softening.
" 'm right here, love. " orpheus murmured, leaning forward to press a kiss to his wife's temple. " it's.. for you, ya know. the song. " he admitted, leaning into eurydice's warmth as a hand gently caressed up and down her back. " 'm sorry, darlin'. no more writing tonight, i promise. i am all yours, now. "
