Welcome to the Earth v Space Recruitment Race!

We’re reaching the last days of signups for Earth v Space, and we want to make sure no fandom member is left behind! We’re spreading the word for Earth v Space so anyone who wants to join has the chance to. This is the first official event for Earth v Space, which means you have the opportunity to earn points before the teams are even assigned!

There are five different ways you can earn points in this event: 

Reblog our announcement post and tag it with #earthvspace recruitment race (1 point, up to twice per day - note the spaces in the tag)

Recruit someone to join Earth v Space (5 points) 

Be recruited to join as a part of the Recruitment Race (2 points) 

Be the 40th, 45th, 50th, etc. person to join Earth v Space (Points TBD)

Be the person to recruit the most amount of people (Points TBD)

If you join as a part of the Recruitment Race, please be sure to mention who you were referred by in order to receive your points. Remember, signups end September 23 at midnight PST.

Hello! I have a question: if we're doing promptober and we post them all in one ao3 document, does it count as a multi-chapter fic for points or do each of the chapters count individually? Thank you!

Hi there! One-shot collections and prompt fills are counted individually per chapter. This information is also available on the Point System sheet you have linked in your team sheets if you forget. :)

how do i score points for quote-art?

The mod team has discussed it and have decided to award 4 points for quote art. We’re working on updating the team spreadsheets and point system information document to reflect this change, so hold tight!

Hi guys! EvS has been amazing! Although I do want to clarify some things re: points for content -- are IG stories by the cast that involves another cast member still included? Like for example, that pic with Mo/Chloe/Jeff/Liz, Karen Gillan's IG story (with Chloe and Jeff), and that video of Jeff and Chloe (the booping nose one)? I'm not sure if it's considered that's why I haven't updated my points. Thanks so much! 😁

Hi there! Thanks for seeking clarification. Direct reposts from a cast member's Instagram/Instagram story or other social media won't be counted for points at all unless there is some sort of manipulation done to the image - otherwise it's just a matter of screenshotting a social media post, which we don't believe is point-worthy. As for other cast-related content, photoshoots etc. will count so long as they are not directly related to another project (ex: a photoshoot from a red carpet for Abominable would not earn points). Hopefully this answers your question!

Just making sure I understand the spreadsheet correctly. If we start posting a WIP, we wait to record points until the whole fic has been posted and just give us points for the final word count, correct? Also, what are the differences between edit, graphic, and manip. Would a fic banner that includes photoshopping characters into a different setting count as graphic, manip, or graphic+manip? I’m not entirely sure of the definitions. Thanks for the help.

You do wait until the end of a fic until totaling the points, that correct. You can find the definitions of the different types of visuals on the ‘Point Information Sheet’ that is linked to your Team sheet!
