hands for the wip word game?

Things I should not be doing at work: this. Oh well. 

Anyway, rough as heck, but have some Dirtbags ;)

They sit in silence but it’s not uncomfortable. Marco finishes his beer first and returns with two more, but that will be all - neither of them drink very much and they’ve learned that once they hit three, Marco gets kind of mean and Troy gets sloppy.  (If Marco’s in a good mood and not drinking, though, sometimes he’ll slide over the third: sloppy Tulo can be fun when he unleashes that inner frat-boy, but he’s also a fucking handful.)

“You’re slow today,” Marco comments when he’s been done his second for a few minutes and Tulo hasn’t yet emptied his first. He’d been having a great week at the plate - he probably didn’t need the booze to help him chill in the same way Marco did. It isn’t meant to rush him: Marco just found himself growing restless, but Tulo quickly reaches for the bottle to hurry it up - and, nope, gotta shut that down; he’s such a fucking lightweight, drinking too fast could be worse than throwing back a third.  Marco really had to pay better mind to his phrasing when they were alone like this. 

“It’s okay. Take your time. I’m just…” He trails off and waves one of his hands around, unable to find a word that really describes just how restless and frustrated and uneasy and fucking hungry for the other man he feels right now.

Tulo worries on his lip a little bit then takes a drink anyway, albeit a normal sized one.  "Frenetic,“ he offers after he lowers the bottle, and Marco almost laughs because, yeah. That.

yesss, that’s exactly what i want! and russ isn’t getting younger - i don’t think he can realistically be the 6 days a week guy he wants to be anymore, and after diving into pitcher/catcher stats yesterday for way longer than i’d like to admit (but i stopped myself before i made spreadsheets... so that’s a win), he’s head and shoulders above the other options they’ve used this year.

and i love that you had this discussion with an uberdriver. i hope (s)he got 5 stars, lol.

rant about any luke ship pls i wanna hear your thoughts 👀👀👀

well i mean i basically took yours and ran with them 👀 this is… less ships per se, but hey. you won’t mind! here’s my lukecanon:

he’s a ho. plain and simple. easy for pitchers, especially his starters. he’s kind of got himself caught in a triangle between strochez, each trying to claim him as ‘theirs’ - and he’s mostly trying to stay out of it, but he’s also kind of attached to both of them in a way. more on that later.

anyway, he’s the backup catcher. he works with everyone less, and needs to get the whole gang comfortable with him, fast. and - yeah, he does, because he’s fucking pretty and always happy to help them relax. yeah, relax.

did i say he’s in a triangle? make that a rhombus or something, because you know i’ve taken in your ship as my own. he just like, loves marco. maybe it’s a little more from afar - not angsty, really, just kinda wistful, why-are-you-perfect-i-would-die-for-you but also i’m-lucky-just-to-know-you adoration. he’s not sure what to do about it, really.

aaron… is weird. they’re both almost kind of wary of each other. of getting close… but the pull is like, hard to fight. the wariness probably is in part because of another other close relationship (👇🏻), but definitely not just that. maybe it’s the lowkey dark and stormy vibe they both set off around each other… but yeah. they’re both more lowkey, quieter, though - they kinda have the same general vibe too, and seem to just gel.

and then there’s stro, who apparently i ship with everyone now. oops. they are - really intense sometimes, but really comfortable too. that kind of took off quickly, right as the season started and social butterfly marcus found himself sort of on the outside of the main group, and all his closest guys dropping off the active roster like flies. he always liked luke, and - he gets clingy. luke doesn’t mind too much, he’s a little bit of a handful, but he’s darn sweet and hot af. he can’t say he doesn’t like the attention, he might be a little dramatic and intense, but stro adores his people and that sure feels nice. they’ll implode soon, probably - like when he hears about luke fucking around with aaron or something and loses his apples - but until then, they’re like, whoa.
