Sega Sonic Bros Prototype at California Extreme 2018 EXA Arcadia Booth
I had a great day being at California Extreme 2018 and EXA ARCADIA is my most favorite part because it finds ways to really revive the arcade by empowering players and operators.
I got a funny story about the Sega Sonic Bros when it appeared jagged.
There is a funny story behind my first encounter with the cabinet with the game that the monitor screen is all wavy and jagged, and the only excuse I could come up with is that Dr. Eggman deliberately set voltage way too high for the TV monitor of Sega Sonic Bros prototype to make the game much harder to play. I could not get a recording, but did somehow take a picture of that damage. Thankfully the monitor is fixed and game plays normally.
I will let the video speak for itself for gameplay.
P.S. I also managed to play Kung Fu vs Karate Champs with Shoutime on one match before he had to go for the last panel at 5pm. It was a joy to attend the lectures about Arcades in Japan as well as learning more about EXA Arcadia, and going for a simple revenue approach with more options for operators to make revenue, like optional internet updates and content, in-game ads, tourneys, and other mysterious quirks, should help revive the arcade industry worldwide. I am going to make the most of California Extreme this weekend.
