It can be difficult sometimes. Hard to resist giving into the want to just write the plot how you please, resisting the urge to forcibly grab the wheel. Bart hasn't received asks in ages, and it's hard to be motivated.
Sometimes, it's really freeing, being able to live out a life that is so nicely separated from yours but you get to maintain so much emotional investment into. being able to feel happiness and kindness from people you don't otherwise experience.
But sometimes that exact emotional investment bites you in the ass, everything's out of your control, and it's just honestly really painful, because you have power, you can fix it, but it's just wrong to. And you know it. You aren't a god, you aren't some puppet master. It's more like you're both tied to one-another, by long threads around your wrists and ankles and necks, and you can pull the strings, but only as far as your own limbs can go. And if they're tangled, you're both being strangled.
