Three Held in Rajasthan for Allegedly Selling NEET Exam Paper for ₹40 Lakh
In a disturbing incident ahead of one of India’s most competitive exams, the Special Operations Group (SOG) of Rajasthan Police has detained three individuals for allegedly attempting to sell the NEET 2025 question paper for ₹40 lakh. The accused reportedly approached a medical aspirant and tried to con him under the pretext of offering access to the exam paper.
According to officials, the three accused have been identified as Balwan (27), Mukesh Meena (40), and Hardas (38). The SOG acted on intelligence inputs and moved swiftly to apprehend the suspects before the fraudulent scheme could be executed.
“An attempt was made to cheat a NEET candidate by promising him the question paper in exchange for a hefty sum,” said a police officer familiar with the case. “This kind of scam not only misleads students but also undermines the credibility of the entire examination system.”
The trio is suspected to be part of a larger network that preys on students desperate to secure a medical seat through illegal shortcuts. Police are currently investigating whether the accused had access to the actual paper or were simply bluffing to extract money.
NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) is India’s gateway for admissions to undergraduate medical programs and is known for its intense competition and high stakes. Incidents like these raise serious concerns about exam integrity and the psychological pressure on candidates.
The SOG is continuing its investigation to trace any wider racket or links to organized cheating. Authorities have urged aspirants and parents not to fall for such scams and to report any suspicious offers or behavior immediately.
