@exanimos sent a letter. ‘ the problem with books is that they end . ’ | prompt.
❝ that certainly [ . . . ] is the case. ❞ gai cannot bring himself to linger on the book for long, though he is glad his dear rival found something he enjoyed; it's leagues better than some books the maito has seen. how a shinobi is supposed to die, for example, the glorification of a noble, sacrificial death never sit quite right with him ever since he adopted his dear, sweet lee. the leaf demands of him fight, die, if necessary; lee asks of him live. and gai finds himself gravitating to the latter.
but why porn of all things.
the cover art, and kakashi's expression while reading invite gai to imagine. and he'd rather not. ❝ how glad i am to see you so passionate about books -- my dear rival. ❞
❝ I AM OVERJOYED. ❞ the last part leaves him in an uncharacteristically high squeal.
' watch where you step, ' ( we can make his day even worse )
“Was it necessary,” Baki prods. “To summon all the dogs at once?” He was not a dog person, he was not an animal person—though, that didn't mean he didn't occasionally scratch the ear of a village stray, or leave a saucer out for the tomcats. He was not a monster. But having so many … as pets, felt like a glutton of over stimulation to him. Though, @exanimos had tricked him before, it's possible this was another prank.
“All I said was that I hadn't seen a stray. I didn't know you collected them.”

❛⠀can i be honest, kakashi-sensei ? ❜ sakura pauses, letting the silence sinks as much as the regret. she thinks about sasuke-kun under T&I's hold, and naruto's own fury from how their long-lost teammate is being held. sakura tries not to think further on how much she doesn't fully share naruto's own sentiment.
❛⠀i'm a little glad that they'll make you the hokage. ❜ and then, forcing a smile, sakura adds, ❛⠀that means you'd stick around more often, right ? ❜
@exanimos ♡'d smol starter call !
hey. how about you come get trapped in a genjutsu that plays babyshark on loop.
❝ Such a genjutsu would be a little bit above your amount of chakra, would it not? Perhaps you could hum the melody for me instead. ❞
@exanimos replied to x : please stop sleeping in mud you're confusing the dogs

He is silent for a long time while Kakashi deals deftly with the cut on his arm. The gash is long and ugly, a stupid consequence of his own carelessness in battle, having underestimated the opponent. A lesson in pride. But there is also something to be said about long missions and how the exhaustion accumulates and bleeds into poor decision-making.
The teen finds comfort in the fact that it’s Kakashi who is tending to him, kneeling so closely, steadfast hands making light work. People never see this. His gentle firmness. The undercurrent of care—fear?—that lies beneath his meticulous nature and frosty ways. The bandage is tightened, forcefully—-Gai scrunches his nose in the littlest of winces.
There is a confession sitting at the tip of his tongue, and when his hard, vigilant gaze meets Kakashi’s worn eye, it falls out of his mouth without restraint.
“… I mastered the seventh gate.”
And hence, the eighth. And with that, the clarity of life’s end rolls into place, the means by which to achieve his ambitions made possible at last — to give his life for something precious, to go out in a blaze of glory, in a culmination of all human strength. Gai smiles with pride.
