“Alright look: you have a point there. However, most seem to forget that she’s on par with M*ckey M*use as an icon, has an entire visual novel to work with and several spin-off series. You have only appeared once in story and that was an over two years ago! Plus there’s C*melot coming up sometime in the future; anything can happen!”

Fighting upon arrival was not a good look for a knight. Yet, she assumed it the best choice for when a couple of men were harassing a damsel of the area. Gareth was very capable of handling a couple of people in her lonesome with great agility and speed, but even then accidents occur.

Once finished, the wooden lance in her hand had become really chipped and the handle had broken in two. She wouldn’t force anything against a wall ever again, getting used to a magical weapon does this to you! Oh, this was nothing but cheating at the end! Where was her pride!? She can’t protect a country if this is how she managed her own weapons.

Now of all times, she had to be found by the king while trying to piece together the pole. It couldn’t go worse than this. It might not be her king but it was still the king.

Regardless of circumstances, all were her uncle and ruler. 

“Your majesty.” Knelt down and features unwilling to face him directly, Gareth kept quiet before breaking her formation and allowing her shame flow freely in her words and demeanour. She stood up in little time, arms waving desperately and face contorted in utter embarrassment.

“They took the lance Sir Merlin enhanced for me and I broke this one! I have no excuse, I understand if I must be disciplined!”

Across tall rooftops, the wind whips a gale. Tonight’s cold; a brisk hand against the warm sun during the day. Not that they feel the cold, being dead and all. Ah, the many miracles of being a Servant!  “Good evening, my heavy-hooded fellow. Lovely night, no?” Saber makes no move to conceal himself or speak with indifference. Rather, his tone is coated with that same jovial familiarity, as ever. “I was hoping you’d fill me in on the particulars of this place and the Servants here.”

“It’s downright strange, so I thought I’d walk around and ask the first Servant I came across.” Given the sheer amount of Servants in the city, it was only a matter of time. “And here you are! Do you make it a habit of observing from up here? Ah, well, it’s not my right to ask.” Still, there’s something-- familiar about this one. Something Saber can’t put his finger on. The voice? Maybe. Those eyes, gleaming from beneath his hoods? Perhaps. No, maybe it’s just his overactive imagination.

        eyes sharpen with a millennium-old criticism, the coldness of his glare is no lie but it carries no hostility either, before settling into an aloofness that has become quite common. he suspects the jab towards the current events will not be the last. it is expected than anyone from chaldea makes light of the situation and to believe otherwise is ridiculous.

irony is a fitting choice, is what it sums everything, and he has no reason to deny it. he believes it, has believed it for as long as the planet was bleached white, and will continue to believe it until his life ends again.

perhaps it is better to call it punishment. behold thy sin and repent.
