Do you guys ever hear something in a sermon or read things in the Bible that make your jaw drop and you think, "I'd like to share that", but then a voice inside of you says, "nah everyone has already heard that and knows that and you're just going to sound like an idiot who doesn't even know God"?! Well today I am saying to that voice, "not today, Satan" and am going to share the little tidbit of a sermon that had me urgently scribbling away in my notebook. So the pastor was looking at the Bible in a timeline view, from Genesis to Revelation, and he did it in a way to point out the similarities between the Old and New Testament and show how many of God's promises and plans were fulfilled when Jesus arrived. So the one part that gave me chills was the pastor (summarizing here) says, "When a tree was placed in the path of Adam and Eve, they willingly disobeyed God. When Jesus was brought in the path of a tree, he willingly obeyed His Father with open arms". A tree aided in bringing sin into the world and a tree aided in bringing salvation into the world. Cue my jaw dropping and possible tears brought on by the Creator of the most beautiful story that there has ever been??? 😭. #unrelatedcaption #excepttherearetrees
