[EXCERPT] NO. 0003 Faint Lights
The train arrived quietly—
No screech of metal. No rush of air.
It came to a stop. Without a sound.
The doors opened just before you reached them.
You stepped inside.
Warmth met you immediately.
Soft. Even.
Lights rested along the ceiling in a thin line, adjusting gently as you passed.
A faint strip along the floor guided your steps— subtle, but always where you needed it. It felt like the train already knew where you would be.
You took a seat near the window.
The doors closed.
The train began to move.
Now, just a low hum— steady beneath you.
You rested your head lightly agaisnt the window.
It was warm. ... At some point—
you stopped watching.
...
When you opened your eyes again, the train was still moving.
Outside, a forest stretched alongside the tracks— tall, quiet, dusted in white.
Unbroken. Still.
As you watched—
Light caught the snow just right, soft reflections scattered through the trees.
For a moment, it looked like the snow itself was moving.
Not drifting. Not falling.
Just... gliding.
Then the angle changed.
And it was only light again.
The hum remained.
The warmth remained.
The train continued forward.
Quietly.
