EXCIDE - ‘LP Promo’

EXCIDE are a hardcore band from both North and South Carolina who teeter a fine line between a heaviness in their muscular limbs akin to bands like Knocked Loose and Vein.fm, but they’ve also got these deeply melodic grooves in their metallic striations that puts them in good company with the confrontational headbutt anthems of Incendiary and early Turnstile, plus coarse, grungy edges that rub alongside Quicksand and Narrow Head. There’s enough familiar influence as there is Jake Paris, Gage Lanza, Austin Parson, Tyler Washington and Frank Bryant’s own way of rebuilding it brick by brick to stand out in the pack.

After an EP and single last summer, they’re reading the release of their debut full-length with a 3-track LP promo, featuring the tracks “Uncoil” and “The Portrait, Now Percived” -- which big up their early sound with an expanded view in the studio with help from recording engineer Wyatt Obelholzer -- as well as a woozy, atmospheric remix of the latter by 196degrees.
