Maddie had been reading his writing again. Well, correcting it, really.

When she had left their bed, Jake had been sound asleep. He had groaned a little when she moved out of his arms but he had quickly returned to his previous state. She did a lot though, waking up in the middle of the night. She’d usually just sit and read for an hour or so before she returned to bed but lately, she had been reading his work. Ever since he had told her that he was writing a story about werewolves. And, being the dick he was, he was using all of the stereotypes… hence her correcting him.

But now, she felt tired again, so Maddie had made the decision to return to both her bed and her boyfriend. On her way out of the living room, she was suddenly pushed against the wall and kissed. She knew it was Jake, for two reasons. One, who else could it be? And two, she knew how he kissed.

The werewolf didn’t even fight it. Instead, she just returned his kiss for a few moments before she had to break it. “You should be asleep, Jake.” She whispered, resting her forehead against his.
