It’s one thing to gush about fluff ships, but the bromance threads with little Trevor, and Hugh bring a whole new level of warm fuzzies. (I also mean that watching the Hugh/Nathan dynamic is amazing too like… they needed to show more of that in CotM.) How do I choose because I love so many of them

Okay, to pick one, one of my favorite muses of all time has been Miles Edgeworth from the Ace Attorney series. For some context here, I had lost a lot of my muse for writing at the time I was getting into Ace Attorney. I decided to quit a story I took two years to plan and write because my inspiration for it had completely run out. I could no longer write it effectively and made the painful decision to trash it. I decided to stop writing for a few months afterwards. Thanks to a friend’s recommendation, I picked up a game of Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth. 

Thank goodness I did.

To put this into consideration, I bought two games at that time. One was Ace Attorney Investigations. The other was Children of Mana. While I only finished the latter once, I’ve done SIX FULL PLAY-THROUGHS of Investigations. That’s how much the game meant to me. Everything struck home at the right time. The dialogue was fluid, the characters lovable, and, most of all, I fell in love with our protagonist, Miles Edgeworth. He caught my attention like no other protagonist had or since. After a few weeks of tentatively writing as him (including private RP’s), I made the decision to take him to Tumblr as a muse.

Writing as him was a blast. I love all the muses I write as, but the sheer joy of my writing talent returning in the form of formulating Miles Edgeworth’s dialogue is something I’ll never forget. I still adore him. I have plans to return to my Ace Attorney blog, and, once I do, I definitely want to write for him again.

Okay, I love everyone I follow. Seriously. But you know what? Here’s a shout-out to @albusofecclesia. I’ve been mutuals with them ever since my days on an old (and currently archived) blog. After I left the Castlevania fandom, I hadn’t seen hide nor hair of Albus-mun and I simply assumed they lost their muse, too. Eventually, I got a follow back from Albus-mun on my Fire Emblem blog, and, slowly but surely, I regained my love for Castlevania. Suddenly, I’m back in the fandom with a Grant and a Soma, and you know what? I’m super happy that our fandom’s got Albus! Props to you, friend, for your great portrayal of one of my favorite Castlevania characters, and for sticking around for so long! You’re great!

Plotting Prompt II Accepting!

GLADLY.

Plot Idea 1: As I’ve already typed out, Grant confronting Trevor about his unrequited love for Sypha. This does get fleshed out in Grant’s story mode in Judgment, in which he spews very bitter words about how Trevor stole the woman he loved. While Grant later tries to validate that, perhaps, Trevor would make Sypha happier than he ever could, I doubt that he truly finds a catharsis for his broken heart. He selflessly allows Sypha to be wed to Trevor (he’s only absent from their wedding, but never stops it nor tries to sabotage it). I really want a thread exploring how broken and how shafted Grant feels. He’ll always be second best to the vampire hunter who slew Dracula, won the girl, and saved the day. The bards won’t sing about the humble DaNasty, but of the legacy of the Belmonts and Belnades.

Plot Idea 2: We’ve discussed Grant not being entirely human before, but I’d love a thread where Trevor figures it out and pesters Grant about his reasons for siding with humanity. Humans (and Trevor himself) grow older and weary; why side with them and not with his kind, who can stay with him? I’d love to flesh out where the grudge with Dracula and Grant started (Judgment interestingly mentions that Grant fears Dracula, for example). I also feel like Grant’s friendship with Trevor would make it easier to confide in him.

Plot Idea 3: Consider the most tragic thing happening. The very worst. Sypha dying. Worse still, she isn’t slain by Dracula’s servants, nor in combat with the Demon King himself. Rather, the villagers discover that she is a witch; despite her exploits in saving them, they seize her to be burnt. Grant and Trevor watch helplessly as she’s charred to a crisp. The villagers had pretended to be amicable, took their weapons under the guise of hospitality, and, without warning, dragged Sypha to the stake. Unarmed, Grant and Trevor give chase, but cannot shake off their many assailants; in the chaos, Sypha goes up in flames. While they escape (perhaps thanks to Alucard’s intervention), they must grieve the loss of Sypha. And wonder if saving humanity’s ungrateful denizens was even worth it. Perhaps....Dracula’s hatred of humanity wasn’t completely groundless....
