     nixon blinked once, then twice, and a quiet laugh soon parted from dark lips. so many compliments in one day !!   how would he DEAL ?   it was much too difficult to ignore the red hue flustering upon the scientist’s cheeks. the sly cat nixon was, he figured it was best to play along in this game; a slender hand planted itself onto his hip, fingers tapping against the rosy fabric, and his tongue clicked to a harmonious coo of a voice.

         “  i can’t quite remember !  i’ve had it for so long...  “

          “  do you usually compliment strangers like this,   doctor ? “

Charles sneaks up behind Nixon and hugged him from behind, intertwining his fingers with his as he nuzzled his face in the crook of his neck. “ I want ice cream and the screams of the innocent. “ {existential-mxdmxn}

          “ do you, now ? “  nixon’s tone was soft, a delicate contradiction to his typical oh-so cold attitude. the surgeon allowed a gentle touch to charles’ hands, thin fingers painting circles around the backs as if they were his canvas. how odd it was, as nixon had never considered himself an artist. nixon offered a grin and even a quiet chuckle, humming in his throat.  “ and i thought i was unethical,     dearest. ~  “

     This was a bizarre case of role reversal, wasn’t it? Usually Iris was the one getting hurt. Granted, it was mostly due to her bumping into things. Or tripping. Or being pushed. But she wasn’t mixing any dangerous chemicals together, at least. Still, it wasn’t like this was the first time the professor had caused an explosion during class. That was kind of his thing. But normally it was on purpose. 

     “Sorry, professor.”
