Fuck! Thanks for the heads up!! I’ve been so preoccupied with Circus 1903 and Cirkus Cirkor that I didn’t even notice they were coming to NYC! I’m pitching this to my circus friend group immediately 👌🏼

Do you happen to know why toruk is at the Barclay center rather than its own tent ? I'm wondering how this show may be different .

Toruk is an arena-only show, so there won’t be any tent performances at all.

I’m pretty good with the decision…I’ve been side-eyeing this project from the start. I’m gonna go see it, of course, but this at least lets me believe it’s not a “real” CdS show if it blows.

Ahh, but I just saw Opus and I have Pilobolus next month followed by Cirque Mechanics! Busy fall!

Anything cirCusy. To go do in the near future ?

HmMmMm, you mean what’s coming up for me personally, or what to look out for if it comes to you? I don’t have anything upcoming on my calendar right now unfortunately -- I should get on that, it would be a great refresher. I’m a little disconnected since I’m taking a break from trapeze to get through a rough transition period at work.

If you have the chance, definitely go see Sequence 8 by Les 7 doigts de la main. I’ve seen several of their shows now, and this one might have been my favorite. I saw it back in June or July or so when it was in NYC. Very, very clever and highly recommend. No idea where it is now though. 

Cirque Eloize’s Id is in Miami now, and that’s a great show too. Not my favorite of theirs, but definitely a treat. I think it’s finishing up its tour.

The Muse is doing some things around Brooklyn this month, but they do things often. 

And if you’re not a member of Circus Now, I reaaaally encourage you to join. They maintain a modest calendar of mostly regional stuff, so you can see what people are putting together in your general area.

I wish I could be more helpful! This is a good reminder for me to get my shit together and get more involved and connected again.

did you see the circus at skirball over the weekend ?

NO I DIDN’T and I’m so sad. I ran home to see Pippin in Hartford, which I've already discussed but am happy to sum up again as ">:|". Really wish I'd seen the Circus Now event instead. Practically all my circus friends made it and it sounds like they had a wonderful time! I hope they do more in the future.
