Genya had no idea how that Kamado kid dragged him into this… Was he: a 17 year old—and quite mature at that, thank you very much—kickass gunman who eats LITERAL demon flesh going to play sleepover games? Like a child?!
Short answer: yes, he was.
Somehow, Tanjiro flashed him that stupidly bright smile that makes flowers grow, and he found himself agreeing almost immediately.
So, dear reader, that is how Genya ended up seated in the meeting room of the butterfly mansion, dangling his socked feet in the air as he lay on his stomach idly. He watched the group with his chin in his hands, spectating their first round of truth or dare.
Eventually, he was dragged into it too, which Genya didn’t much mind. The questions were sweet and innocent at first, revealing his love for dango—and his love for a certain young hashira… oops… Once the teasing giggles from Tanjiro and Zenitsu subsided, he felt… safer. Knowing that his friends knew about his secret crush, Genya felt warm. He finally had people to confide in.
They learned a lot about one another—how Tanjiro can’t taste cilantro; how Zenitsu has nerve damage on his fingertips; how Inosuke can touch his tongue to his nose; how Kanao can do a one-handed handstand; how Nezuko can’t process gluten. And then Genya told them about his asthma… And they all smiled at him sympathetically. No one belittled him for not being able to use Total Concentration Breathing. No one mocked his diagnosis, or-or laughed at him.
No. His friends were the kindest people in the world.
The game continued, and this time the dares were given out. Inosuke was supposed to eat a kitchen concoction, but he was way too enthusiastic, so Kanao took that one instead. (This was how the group discovered her INSANE spice tolerance.)
Zenitsu had to spin around for thirty seconds then try to walk in a straight line—he immediately went to the floor.
Tanjiro was tasked with eating a random plant from the garden—it was good! Some kind of mint sprig.
Nezuko had to stand on her head for fifteen seconds.
Then, finally Inosuke… those “bastards” made him sit still for five seconds… He lasted about 2.5.
When it was finally Genya’s turn, the group deduced that the dares were far too boring. Lucky him… He was dared—so cruelly—by Zenitsu to ask Muichiro to train together and have tea. No way; no how! That blonde asshole!
Though, tea with Tokito did sound blissful… and he really could use the training… Alright, fine.
The group stood behind a corner as the mohawked slayer approached the mist hashira’s quarters. They watched with bated breath as the blue-eyed male opened his door almost immediately upon hearing Genya’s voice.
Genya looked everywhere but at Muichiro. He rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly. “Sorry to bother you so late, but I’ve been doing some thinking. I’d like for you to train me in my agility tomorrow… Then maybe I can repay you with some tea?”
The boy’s tired eyes immediately lit up. “With you? Oh yay! Yes, Genya. I accept this invitation.” Genya would never understand how unabashedly honest Muichiro was… It was as if getting his memories back opened up a brand new world for him.
The two bade one another adieu, and the older slayer returned to the group, his heart hammering, a giddy smile on his face. “He… He said yes…?” he murmured, as if unable to accept it himself.
“Genya!” A voice called after him. “Mind if I join you?“
Before he could hesitate, Tanjiro shot him an ecstatic thumbs up. “O-Of course!” he croaked out in reply.
Muichiro bounded up to them, wrapped up in his haori. “I could sense everyone waiting behind the wall. I assumed they were the ones who convinced you to ask me for training… Well! I’m glad they did.”
Genya could only blush from his ears.
The rest of their night was spent with idle conversations between the seven of them, revealing more and more about eachother. The aura in the room was light and airy as they all laughed together, maybe a little too loudly for the time of night.
Okay… very too loudly for the time of night.
During a particularly hilarious story by Zenitsu the group laughed boisterously. Genya’s chest shook heavily, moving the head of the mist pillar, which was resting atop of it as he sat between his legs.
“What in the name of the gods are you brats doing in here?!” seethed a voice. Genya suddenly tensed, holding onto Muichiro’s forearm. “It’s two in the morning, and this is an extremely sacred space!”
“Hardly,” the youngest slayer deadpanned. “The master has us meet in here, but it’s no sacred gathering place.”
“Butt out, Mui’,” growled the voice. “And what are you doing all cozied up to my baby bro?!”
“I was cold. He was next to me. He’s comfy. Must I explain more to you?” His eyes narrowed at Sanemi when he felt Genya gripping him tightly. “You’re frightening him. Disappear.”
“Jesus, Mui’—“
“Tokito, it’s okay,” Genya hummed. “He’s not scaring me. I promise!”
“You’re clinging to me in terror. You’re scared.”
“I just got nervous because he was loud. It’s 2 in the morning, Tokito!” Genya sputtered. He gently pulled himself off of the younger hashira and made his way to Sanemi, putting his hands on his hips. “Look! I’m not scared of him!”
The wind pillar cocked a brow at his baby brother’s actions. He smirked, an idea forming in his mind. He pulled Genya into a tight hug, giving him a noogie. “Yep. This little shit here’s still my little bro.” After a few seconds, one of his hands found the younger slayer’s side, squeezing.
Genya tensed, his knees going weak. No way Sanemi would embarrass him like this in front of his friends! “‘Nemi—“
“Don’t laugh, Gen’. You wouldn’t want your chums to see how ticklish you are~” whispered Sanemi, attacking with more fervor.
“B-But my—“
“I’ll be careful with your asthma. Live a little, baby bro.” With that, the older slayer grinned evilly, letting his hand move across Genya’s torso to his stomach. Flicking his gaze to the rest of the group, he knew they were definitely aware of what was going on here by now. “Don’t laugh, Gen’~” the white-haired hashira cooed.
Genya snorted, his hand coming down to grab at Sanemi’s wrist. “‘N-Nemi!”
“Tickle tickle tickle tickle tickle—“ he whispered quietly for only his little brother to hear. “Tickytickytickytickyticky.”
Genya was for sure going to perish. He was red in the face as he tried to withhold his laughter. “D-Don’t—“
The mowhawked slayer felt more and more hot embarrassment creep up to his cheeks. He spared a glance to Muichiro, and his blush deepened when he saw the mist pillar looking at him in total adoration. He wasn’t able to do much when Sanemi’s hand traveled down to his hip, eliciting a loud bark of laughter. “NEHEHEMI!”
“Oh noooo. That sucks! You weren’t supposed to laugh; now everybody knows that you’re ticklish!” the oldest hummed in a faux sympathy. “That’s too bad… Now they’re just gonna have to see you fall apart, huh?”
“Fall ap-PAHAHAHAHAHAHART?! NAHAHAHAHAHA! ‘NEHEHEHEMI!” A sneaky hand had darted down to his hip, pinching at the bone.
“Ohhhh! Shinazugawa was tickling him,” mused Zenitsu, though his smile was telling of his prior knowledge.
“Yes. It appears so,” chirped Kanao.
“Genya’s laugh is so sweet,” the redhead cooed. “It’s so nice to hear him letting loose and having fun.”
“He’s rather cute… I want to hear more.”
Genya had half forgotten that Muichiro was in the room. God damn it, Sanemi! He couldn’t tell at his brother, though. His strangled attempts to keep his giggles at bay were all for naught when Sanemi’s fingers massaged the back of his thigh. “‘NEMI’NEMI’NEMI NOOOOHOHOHOHO! NAHAHAHAT THEHEHEHERE!”
“Not here? Why not, little brother? Does that tickle?”
“NOHOHOHOHO!”
“No? Alright, great! That means I can keep going then!”
“NAHAHAHA! ‘NEHEHEHEMI!” Genya squeaked when he was easily hoisted over his brother’s shoulder. He held on for dear life before his body went limp, as both of the wind pillar’s dug mercilessly into the backs of his thighs. “NOHOHOHOAHAHAHAHAHAHA! ‘NEHEHEHEHEHEHEMIHIHIHIHIHI!”
“Ohhhh. This must be a bad spot!”
“Gonta sounds like he’s suffering,” mused Inosuke.
“I’m honestly not sure…” replied Zenitsu. “On the one hand, Shinazugawa isn’t technically hurting him, but on the other hand, that seems to be a really ticklish spot for him.”
“Should we stop him?” whispered Tanjiro. A loud squeal of agony broke the three from their thoughts. “Maybe we should…”
“Let them,” replied Kanao. “They do nothing but fight. Sanemi belittles Genya too much. It’s refreshing to see them acting like brothers again.”
So, they sat and waited.
After what felt like ages, Genya was nearing his limit. His chest was starting to hurt, and he felt a little dizzy. His fists pounded against his big brother’s back, a silent plead for mercy. But Wind Hashira Sanemi Shinazugawa knows nothing of mercy. “PLEHEHEHEHEHEHEASE!”
“Oh my goodness! You’re begging now? That’s quite a feat, baby brother.”
“ST-STAHAHAHAHA—!”
“And why should I? You’re seeming to enjoy yourself.”
“SAHAHAHAHANEHEHEHEMIHIHIHI! UHUHUHUNCLE! I CAHAHAHAHAN’T! SHIHIHIHIHIHIT STAHAHAHAHAHAP!”
“Are you sure?”
Genya’s laughter went silent, and the fists pounded harder. Shortly after, his hand scrambled around Sanemi’s haori for the pocket on the garment, a sure-fire sign that the boy needed it to stop now.
“Calm down.” Sanemi immediately ceased, pulling his brother back onto the ground. He sat him down, pulling out an inhaler from his left pocket. “Here you go.” He kept a gentle hand on his brother’s back as the medicine was administered.
“Oh, relax. You’re fine.” He looked up at the group to see concern written on their features. “Kamad—“ he paused, looking down at his little brother with a mischievous smirk. “Muichiro, come sit with him.”
The mist pillar scooted over to him on his knees. A tentative hand found Genya’s shoulder, and those crystal blues stared through his soul. “Is he… Is he okay?”
“He will be,” Sanemi replied, standing up. “He’s a big boy; he can tell you himself.”
Muichiro glared daggers at the older hashira before turning back to Genya. “Gentle breaths… focus on filling your lungs all the way.”
Genya’s head hung low as he took in some air. He felt his hand being gently touched and the inhaler was removed from his fingers. He heard some quiet words whispered, and all of a sudden it was easier to breathe again. He looked up to see Tokito’s head bowed, his teeth were locked together as mist escaped the side of his mouth.
Sanemi gave the two a knowing look before giving a warning to the rest of the friends, telling them to ‘keep it down, or you’ll get what he got.’ Scary… He left without another word, leaving the others alone.
“You okay, Genya?” Tanjiro asked, scooting toward him. The oldest could only nod lethargically. “Oh no… You just rest. We can all go to sleep now. Zenitsu, can you find him a pillow please?”
The yellow-haired slayer made a move to stand up before he smiled, pointing. “He doesn’t seem to need one…”
The four turned their attention to Genya and Muichiro: the older’s head in the younger’s lap. Muichiro had picked his own up—the mist still escaping from between his teeth—and his fingers were gently massaging the buzzed parts of Genya’s head. “He’s sleepy,” mused the hashira. “Don’t worry; I can keep him safe.”
The four turned to each other, casting knowing smiles—unless if you were Inosuke, in which you just smiled because everyone else was; you don’t really understand what’s being insinuated here—toward one another.
“Let’s keep talking… but can we be a little quiet? I don’t want to wake him up.” Muichiro’s voice was soft and tender, and he looked down at Genya as if he were holding the most precious thing in the world.
Tanjiro, Zenitsu and Kanao shared a grin again.
Inosuke still didn’t know what the fuck those three were on about.
Summary: When Ryuk discovers that Light is ticklish, he can’t resist teasing him, cackling with delight as the usually composed Light Yagami struggles to maintain his dignity.
Lee: Light Yagami
Ler: Ryuk
A/N: I thought this gif was hilarious cause Ryuk looks like he's about to sneak attack Light :3
Light Yagami sat at his desk, the Death Note open before him. He tapped the pen against the paper, deep in thought, strategizing his next moves. The air in his room was still, except the looming presence of Ryuk, who hovered lazily behind him.
“You’re always so serious,” Ryuk muttered, sounding almost bored. “Humans are strange. Even when they’re trying to take over the world, they’re so uptight.”
Light didn’t even glance up. “I’m not uptight. I’m focused. There’s a difference.”
Ryuk grinned, sharp teeth gleaming. “Focused, huh? You never relax, do you? I wonder...” He drifted closer, an idea forming in his mischievous mind. “Hey, Light… are humans ticklish?”
Light froze for a second, eyebrows twitching in annoyance. “What kind of stupid question is that?”
“Ohhh.” Ryuk’s grin widened at the subtle shift in Light’s expression. “You are ticklish, aren’t you? I wonder what happens if I...”
Before Light could stop him, Ryuk reached down with his long, bony fingers and gave Light’s ribs an experimental wiggle.
“R-Ryuk!” Light yelped, twisting away from the unexpected sensation. He batted at the Shinigami’s hands, trying to maintain his composure. But Ryuk wasn’t done.
“This is hilarious!” Ryuk cackled loud, eerie, and unhinged. His laughter echoed through the room as he danced his fingers across Light’s ribs and sides, delighting in how his human companion squirmed. “So even you can’t resist a little tickling, huh, Light?”
Light grit his teeth, determined not to give in. “S-stop it, Ryuk! This isn’t fuhunny!”
“Are you kidding? This is hilarious!” Ryuk’s cackle grew even louder as Light thrashed in his chair, trying desperately to fend off the Shinigami’s relentless poking. "Humans are weird! Who knew the mighty Kira could be undone by a few wiggly fingers?”
Light bit his lip, stifling a laugh that threatened to escape. But Ryuk’s clawed hands were merciless, and before long, a startled laugh broke free from Light’s lips.
"Nahahaha he-hehehey quit ihihit!!"
“There it is! I knew you had it in you!” Ryuk howled with delight. His cackling laughter filled the room, almost drowning out Light’s increasingly frantic giggles.
“Hahaha R-Ryuk, stop! Y-you-ahh!-idiot!” Light gasped, trying to push the Shinigami away. His hair was disheveled, his usual calm demeanor shattered by the absurdity of the situation.
“Why would I stop now?” Ryuk said between cackles, his grin wider than ever. “This is the most fun I’ve had in years!”
Eventually, Ryuk relented, floating backward with a gleeful smirk. Light slumped in his chair, gasping for breath, glaring daggers at the Shinigami.
“Seriously what's gotten into you,” Light muttered, straightening his clothes and running a hand through his hair in a futile attempt to restore his dignity.
Ryuk chuckled, still grinning from ear to ear. “Oh, come on, Light. Admit it! That was fun. For me, at least!”
Light shot him a murderous look. “If you ever do that again, I’ll write your name in the Death Note.”
Ryuk cackled once more, completely unfazed. “Oh, Light… as if you’d get rid of me. Who else would make you laugh like that?”
Light rolled his eyes, muttering under his breath, but Ryuk only continued to float around the room, still amused by his newfound discovery.
And though Light would never admit it out loud, he knew he’d have to stay on his guard from now on - because Ryuk had found yet another way to torment him.
