John Goldman I don’t remember exactly how I met John, but I know it was at a Photo Club meeting. He was a passionate wildlife photographer. I remember seeing him at a club picnic laying on the ground to capture a photo of a duck. When I went to the very first PIC (Pike Imaging Council, now called Pike Photography Club), I was happy to see a familiar face and sat next to him and always enjoyed his company. He and Pat continued to make the long trip to our meetings almost every month and I always enjoyed both of them. I loved seeing his photos, but I also loved getting his critiques on my photos. He didn’t dance around with flowery compliments but always went right to the point to critique the photos. He just wanted you to be the best you could be. You knew if John liked a photo it was good. I will miss his critiques and his friendship. I know that when I see an eagle or a wood duck (two of his favorites to photograph), I will always think of him.
