jesse has always been more reserved, always in his head rather than living in the moment. he thought a lot about the future and his family, but rarely of himself. it wasn't until he met his best friend as a young teen that he realized he should focus a little on himself. he did so by taking up the photography, and since then it has been his passion.
he views his siblings as his responsibility. growing up, seeing the lengths and struggles that their mother went trough, he didn't want her to take on all of it so he would work odd jobs until he was old enough to get a job as a waiter. by doing he took care of his own needs with the money he earned so that his mother could focus on his siblings rather than him. however, anything outside of the family setting he will find himself keeping tabs on them, keeping them out of trouble the best he can.
thanks to his untriggered werewolf gene, jesse does have a temper though most of the time it manifests in the form of more disappointment and being highly sensitive, he carries such high standards for himself and those around him that he often gets let down and walked over.

eli pretty much grew up on her own. while she did have two parents, there jobs meant more to them than eli. eli was more for show than anything. a toy they could show off at parties and events.
this loveless family was what made eli become so cold. she was a girl that never cared about her own emotions or others emotions. this lack of caring and feelings towards others caused her to get in many fights with her peers. maybe she was craving some attention but her parents would send her to a different boarding or private school each time she got kicked out.
eli has only ever cared about one person in her life. she met her friend when she was 17 and eli would risk her life for this girl. the pair went out on a night out after they graduated high school. everything seemed find.
but that night was a big turn for eli, her friend, juliet was killed in front of her, the rage just ran through her veins. she broke some wood into a sharp edge and jabbed it into the vampires heart. the hunter who was tracking this vampire was a little shocked but decided to take eli under their wing.
she did everything she could to train. she eat, drink and slept being a hunter. the hatred she had for all supernatural's beings coarse through her veins. none of them should be around, they caused pain and pain was something eli never wanted anyone to experience.
since then, she has hardened herself, become more confident in her skills and made her way into the ranks of the oea. she is a bit sadisitc, she likes to toy with her victims, make them suffer even more, maybe to the point where they will beg for death and then, she may take a little longer to grace them with that.

HISTORY
Mackenzie had always felt protective and maternal, especially as they grew up amongst the Crescents during the Crescent curse, their parents forced to live their days as wolves with one night every month, the full moon, to be with their children in human form. Unfortunately in Mackenzie's teen years, the strain of feeling like she held the weight of the world on her shoulders as she tried to navigate who she was while also ensuring that her siblings were safe and cared for, her growing aggression and temper tended to get the better of her and always somehow found herself in fights with the other untriggered teens. Around this time, however, Mackenzie found herself falling in love. It was a whirlwind kind of relationship, one that made Mackenzie feel more alive than ever, more carefree and making riskier choices than she used to. Thus resulting in her getting pregnant. The first year with her son was amazing. The new parents doting over the little boy until they found out that she had fallen pregnant once more, this time a set of twins. Her partner became distant and was in and out of her and their kids lives. The anger that boiled within her as the realization that she was now a single mother to 3 children under the age of 3 while still being somewhat of a child herself had increased the level of stress that she had already been feeling. It didn't take long for someone to push her buttons to far before she ended up in another fight this time her aggression far too much for her to control thus resulting in Mackenzie's triggering of her gene at the age of 21, leaving her children to be cared for by her younger sister, Sierra. 𝐇𝐈𝐒𝐓𝐎𝐑𝐘: Artemis had a normal life. Until she was 10. Her parents died from a break-in robbery. The police said it was just bad luck but normal. She couldn't imagine how losing the two people she loved unconditionally could ever be seen as normal. She was then put into the system. And then foster care where she bounced around from home to home. Either they didn't realize just how traumatized she was or it was causing problems with her family when she'd wake up from a nightmare where she would see her dead parents on the floor of their home. Or her anger was too much for them. Whatever reason they gave, she would be sent back to an orphanage. Until the last home she was put in at 15. The woman "specialized" in troubled kids. There were several kids already in the home when Artemis arrived.
Artemis quickly realized that the woman was only in it for the check the kids provided. She was an older woman and tried to rule the house with an iron fist. She locked the fridge and pantry to keep the kids from snacking or eating anything she didn't approve of, she cut the wifi off even if the kids were using it for school very early in the evening, cut off the hot water and make them shower still. Things like that. And if Artemis or one of the older kids made her mad enough, she'd hit them. Artemis, already having rebellious feelings from the past homes, ended up falling into the wrong crowd at school. She joined the smalltime gang and participated in all the normal teenage rebellions; sneaking out, theft, underage drinking. She got more into street racing to make some cash. And she didn't bother hiding it from the foster woman, earning her more than one hit in her three years there.
When she aged out of the system, she stayed with some of the older members of the gang. She did jobs for them; stole cars, raced, robbed rich houses. She wasn't in a good place. She felt like she wasn't really living but barely surviving just to pay them some for the mattress she slept on. One night, when she was 20, they had a job for her. There was a mansion in a nearby town. They were supposed to have a bunch of things that she could grab that would help them out for awhile. Artemis agreed, feeling like she couldn't say no. Even if she didn't want to anymore. She wasn't a stupid teenager anymore. She got a car and drove to the mansion they had talked about. She hadn't been told that there was a party going on. She'd hoped that that would help her. That they'd be too distracted with the party. It did not go that way. She was in the process of grabbing things they could pawn when someone appeared in the doorway. She doesn't remember much after that beyond being attacked and ravaging hunger. Not until she was standing in the living room of the house surrounded by mutilated bodies.
With her newfound vampirism, that she didn't understand at all, she ended up on a rampage. Anytime she was remotely thirsty, it tended to turn into a bloodbath. She couldn't seem to stop herself. She felt a ridiculous amount of guilt after each time and would try to lock herself away somewhere but it never worked. Every time she was thirsty, it tended to start again. And she was all alone with no help whatsoever.
That was when she was found by Rebekah Mikaelson. The Original Vampire was gentle with the obviously traumatized girl. Artemis hated what she was doing, what she was. But Rebekah provided her with some answers. She told her that she was exhibiting Ripper behavior. That she was more sensitive to blood than other vampires. She explained all her unanswered questions about the rules of what she was. The blonde saved her. She provided her a safe space. And, despite not having her trust at first beyond what she could provide, Rebekah earned the young girl's trust. Artemis stuck by Rebekah's side as she travelled. The relationship developed naturally and Rebekah helped her work through some of the things she never had. Eventually, Artemis saw her as a mother figure. One that she hadn't had in her life since she was a scared 10 year old. Rebekah welcomed her into the family, introducing her to the other Mikaelsons. Artemis loves her new family and wouldn't trade them for anything in the whole world.

come the end of legacies, lizzie remained with the salvatore school, helping her mother and her friends rebuild and welcome the new class
in the year following, as the OEA rose in prominence and threatened the school, lizzie still committed to the school's cause regardless, keen on not running away over a hopefully insignificant threat
unfortunately for her, the threat wasn't insignificant, and her dedication to the cause is what led to her sacrifice
she took a solo recruiting mission to visit a supposed troubled young witch in need of safe haven. it was supposed to be a low stakes endeavor, not even worthy of a proper day trip. in reality, the "troubled young witch" was working for the OEA, and what was meant to be a good Samaritan mission led to lizzie being captured, sacrificed, and trapped in the prison world
she was in there for 3 years, absolutely livid at the turn of events. the karma of the situation (or lack thereof because she was trying to be good and not run away and deal with things head on and take initiative and spread warmth and community and all that kumbaya nonsense) has led to some setbacks in her own personal growth, ngl, but she's working on that since her return
also worth noting that her time away has left her feeling just awful in general. prior to her sacrifice, she was just starting to embark on a journey of figuring out a future for her self, now that she was finally in a position of having one with the merge out of the question. but then the OEA became a thing causing trouble, and she was thrown into a prison world just as things started seriously changing in the real world. being trapped for so long stifled her and her growth, and she's come back to a world different than the one she left, all the people she's loved moved onto various different stages in their lives over the 3 years, and she hates that.
anyways, she's only just recently finally made her way to new orleans after her release, and she's got a lot of resentment at the OEA for her imprisonment, while also dealing with a lot of self-esteem issues stemming from a profound sense of aimlessness. she's doing her best to reorient herself to this new reality

trapped together: lizzie spent 3 years in a prison world, she was bound to make all kinds of relationships with the people she was trapped with, and I want them all. friends in the prison world, roommates/neighbors, hookups, relationships, enemies, unlikely friends (!!!), people she worked with during her many (failed) attempts to escape, etc. and all of the above!
vampire mentor. the s2 stefan to her caroline. ideally, this is someone who was in the prison world with her. I imagine that in the year after legacies but before lizzie got trapped, she had started making decent headway into her vampirism with mg, but after getting trapped, I can def see her making it her mission to get through honing her skills totally, if only to help her get through the endless sameness of the days
baby vamps. similar to the above, except instead of a mentor, this was someone who was new to the vampire world with her, and they explored the ins and outs of vampirism together. also ideally in the prison world, likely to be a WC.
crush (m): lizzie is prone to superficial crushes, pure eye candy. it's a great distraction for her, something to pour her energy into easily, and easy is exactly what's she's looking for after being gone for so long. if anything real actually comes from it is something we can plot, but for now, this would just be someone easy on the eyes
crush (f): I hc that lizzie realized she was bi after spending time with the god Jen in s4. since this realization, she's leaned pretty hard into the exploring that part of herself loud and proud and open about it (likely to overcompensate for how out of her field/new being with women is for her), so she probs also has a fem crush too. she's likely to resemble more of her s1 rafael-era flirtation (re: awkward & rambly) with women than her smoother s3/4 semi-confidence.
fwb/fuck buddy: lizzie has got a lot of pent up frustration over her years away, and this person helps her release that. could be friendly arrangement between two peers, or just a fuck buddy who is only contacted when she's got an itch to scratch. this person, regardless of the their relationship to her, likely also is prone to hear lizzie vent her frustrations before/after (and possibly even during) sex because bb's a talker!
living situation. I imagine since her return and coming to new orleans, she's probably living with a family member (her mom most likely, maybe her sister), which is fine, but she'll eventually want to move out into her own space (she was on an independence journey away from her normal familial crutches before being trapped, after all), so potential roommates and neighbors would be fun plots.
friends. and of course, all the friends! lizzie is an extrovert who has a very hard time being alone, so she of course likes to build a community of people she can go to for all the things. shopping friends. foodie friends. gossip friends. unlikely friends. confidants. OEA revenge buddies. accountability buddies.
frenemies. and with friends, comes enemies, which lizzie is prone to making.
