I find them fascinating because they’re just the epitome of the two worst people you know finding each other and somehow actually being a good couple. I might be alone in this but I feel like they did really really care about each other. Ulic is definitely someone who picks up attachments left and right but in some weird was Exar wasn’t trying to manipulate him or change him like a lot of his other personal relationships. I might be delusional but seriously, what kind of sith goes to personally rescue his apprentice from a very dangerous situation that said apprentice got himself into. like, yes he was also there to do other things, but sith don’t do self sacrifice and Exar could have very easily died. I found it odd that ulic immediately turned on Exar when nomi purged him of the dark side, I think it could be interpreted that Exar brainwashed him like he did to a bunch of others but I personally don’t agree with that. Ulic didn’t 100% follow Exar’s orders, in fact I’d say that a good chunk of the time he did his own thing or just pretend to have water in his ears when someone told him hear to do.

Anyways, still toxic, still fucked up, but they’re fucked up together. the constant pestering and nagging did work and Ulic did shell out for a big shiny ring so they can officially receive the ‘most obnoxious newlyweds of the galaxy award’

I finished Tales of the Jedi and behold, I found a more niche Sith Lord ship than Revalek

If you think about it, Exar was Ulic’s most stable relationship. They have matching tattoos and jewelry, were bound together by an elderly religious figure … hear me out y’all, I’m onto something.

This is a more-serious companion piece for the comic I previously posted about Ulic Qel Droma visiting Yavin again.

Still cut off from the Force, the main temple of Yavin remains silent. Ulic feels a slight breeze, but it’s probably nothing.

Ulic's family is unsupportive 😔

Tales of the Jedi takes place in an interesting space in the Star Wars timeline. With Exar, Ulic, and Aleema re-founding the Sith Region, few Jedi in recent memory can conceptualize one of their own turning to the Dark Side.

Throughout the comic, Ulic's friends repeatedly try to host interventions for him, often just going "Ah, so you're still evil. Okay, buddy, hope you feel better, see you in a few months."

Except Sylvar, but that's why she's the best.

In this piece, I experimented with a slightly simplified style using a new brush. I think I prefer the style to the brush, but I was glad to step out of my comfort zone for a bit.
