Ariel is confused when people end up at his place, but this is even more confusing. He isn’t a person who makes friends, especially not with, well, mature adults who appear to have their life together, and that’s exactly what Liam is. “...Yeah?” He doesn’t understand why Liam is here. “I stopped answering your calls for a reason, y’know.” The other is getting too close, and though it’s probably out of a concern for his well being, Ariel doesn’t like when people get too close to any of his secrets. He’s got his jacket on, as always, and looks tired, as always. “What do you want?” Does the other somehow see that his asshole front is just that? A front?

          augustus was far too protective of his children, that it resulted in his two youngest venturing out in the dead of night. it was safer for sadie — sadie, much like their older brothers, was a fighter. mercer, however, was often kept away from the harsh realities of the world because he couldn’t hear. and he, on his own, couldn’t afford hearing aids.           but that wouldn’t stop him in the slightest. he kept the can of pepper spray in his pocket just as his mother had requested. but this part of town was one he still didn’t quite know the layout of. so he was buried in his phone, the only light illuminating him. he didn’t notice anyone coming his way, and of course didn’t hear them, so he walked almost directly into them.          it sent both of them to the ground — mercer’s phone slipped out of his hand, but luckily not so far. it was his method of communication. and of course he had to apologize. so he reached out for it, grabbing it and immediately typing something out as he stood up.
