Smoking was a BAD habit – it damaged the lungs and caused a whole variety of other health complications. It wasn’t something he had ever allowed his Crownsguard to engage in, at least not on the job or inside the Citadel walls. Seeing Noctis smoking though...it made him angry. The boy he had known since a child – the boy he had watched grow up was willingly damaging his own health and Cor wasn’t sure there was anything he could do about it. He sighed, eyes narrowing as he watched the boy. Whatever temporary relief he was getting from the cigarettes, it wasn’t WORTH it.
The Prince apologised, but there was no sincerity to it. That was obvious by the way Noctis continued to smoke despite Cor’s clear disapproval. Well, Cor wasn’t about to take that disrespect, not even from the Prince – not when he was endangering his own health. No. The Marshal stared at Noctis for a long moment longer before closing the distance between them. Upon reaching Noctis, he promptly tugged the cigarette out of the Prince’s mouth and dropped it on the floor before crushing it beneath his foot.
“I don’t want to see you smoking again, Highness,” he told him as he moved to join him, leaning against the Regalia just to the Prince’s side. “We can get you some patches while we wean you off them, but you’re quitting.”
It was rare Cor gave an order to royalty, but as the Marshal of the Crownsguard, the well being of the royal family was his top priority and right now, there was no room for ARGUMENT in his voice.
