Experiential Workshop on Universal Design by Kavita Murugkar
Universal Design is an inclusive concept and design approach that caters to the needs of diverse kinds of user groups in the society irrespective of their differences and abilities to maximize usability of products, services and the built environment to the broader spectrum of users.
The workshop aims to sensitize and introduce to the participants the concept of ‘Universal Design’ or ‘Design-for-All’, a relatively new design paradigm that extends far beyond the bias on the able-bodied or a hypothetical “average / normal” user by giving a first-hand experience of disability through a simulation/role play exercise.
