No Shirts In Scotland
That is very much not the expression I'd expect on the face of a man whose ENTIRE CROTCH HAS EXPLODED.
Also, he's clearly wearing an ankle-length tartan skirt, given the flare. Either that or his standard kilt has also exploded.
When passion sparks like fire in the Highlands, will a devastating secret destroy everything they love? Meg Lachlan wants nothing to do with Ewan MacLeod. He’s a ruthless, arrogant laird, reckless and far above her station in the rugged Highlands. But when the English come hunting, she’s left with no choice but to place her life—and heart—into his hands. Ewan has fought for his clan, battled his inner demons, and sworn off love at every turn. But Meg is different. The passion between them ignites a fire that consumes them both. What starts as duty turns into an inferno of passion— a forbidden love neither of them can deny. But a bitter betrayal and Meg’s abduction shatters everything, and Ewan is left with one choice: burn the world down to get her back. Now, Ewan will stop at nothing to reclaim her. Not enemies. Not war. Not even death itself. His love for Meg runs deeper than anything he's ever known, and he will raze castles, defy kings, and face the ultimate test of his fierce heart to find her. Will their bond withstand the ultimate test? Or will they be torn apart by forces beyond their control?
Just two thoughts, really:
1 - "far above her station in the rugged Highlands" - they are, of course, much higher up in the Highlands, and also, apparently the Highlands have been carpeted! Nice!
2 - Surely, somewhere between 'strongly worded letter of protest' and 'burn the world down' there are more options available!
3 - The forces beyond their control will very likely involve a situation that could have been easily resolved if they'd actually talked about it.
4 - "Defy kings" - plural kings is not the most historically inaccurate summary of how things went down in Scotland more than once, where strictly speaking there was only one king at a time for the most part, but there were certainly multiple people who thought it should be them instead, often all at once.
