Underground level of Capua Amphitheater. This was one of the original ancient Roman theatres. It was built in Capua at the end of the 1st century BC and is second only in size to the Colosseum on Rome. (built 72AD), Capua was already infamous as this is the town where less than 30 years before, Spartacus had rebelled from Capua’s famous Gladiator School.
