So last night Myles Dyer (Blade376) posed this question on VYou "What matters to you in life right now?" If you get chance please do respond to it. I'll be doing my video response tonight, because last night my interwebs died and during the day my house is stupidly busy and noisy. But I thought I'd post this since I typed it out last night and couldn't post it but wanted to get my thoughts down I guess... Below is what I wrote down if you want to read it.
Right now what matters to me is simply surviving is probably the best way to put it... I just feel like quite worthless in a way. After graduating last year I have had quite literally no luck when its come to getting a job, placement, internship take your pick. I've had varied responses from "You don't have enough experience" to "sorry we can't take anyone on right now" Which I find quite funny since that's for me doing a work placement for free...
Having been on jobseekers now for almost a year I've noticed a lot about how horrible the government actually are and how bad the system is failing. They pretty much will do anything so they don't have to pay you, they will make you do any job simply so they don't have to pay you. Its all about getting you off their records. There's no support, no real help for you available, atleast with my experiences. They don't have the tools to help people get a job honestly. Its pretty grim. There aren't a lot of prospects out their so the governments idea is oh we'll stick these unemployed folks in places like tesco for example and they will work for free, you're forced to do this because if you don't they will stop the only resource you have for money that is your jobseekers. I'm sure you all saw the article about the Jubilee and how the unemployed were pretty much used as slaves there if you didn't here it is:

Some people were shocked at seeing it, me I wasn't in any way. Because its what the government can get away with in the current system of running things. Which is why right now the main things that's always right at the back of my mind is, if there was anything I could do to help change the system I'd do it. Because we're all people in this world, we all have potential, potential that isn't being utilised because there's not enough education and support available. This isn't going to change over night, but I'd like to see it change. I'm currently a tiny spec in a huge system that's corrupt and failing and I hate it. I hate being a product of a faulty system. I feel as though trying to better my chances of getting a job by going to University to study something I do enjoy have kind of been worthless.
I've been pondering that for a while now. And I'd like to do something abit more worthwhile I guess... I enjoy design but I don't want to just do that, I'd like to contribute to helping change society. I'm very thankful that over a year ago I started to read into Jacque Fresco mainly for a project for Uni suggested by my tutor, I then heard about stickaid through a friend and started to watch Myles's video's. My eyes have been opened a lot since then, I'm grateful that from those videos Myles gave me the chance to research things. I always knew in my mind that what was going on in the world the way its run wasn't right. And I will still continue to educate myself and I'd love to help make changes happen in any way shape or form I can. We can't keep regurgitating history, its shown us that there's flaws, yet we keep repeating them, its time that stopped...
Well that is all I wrote, I haven't changed it, its just my raw thoughts from that moment last night really. If you read it I hope it made sense atleast and I thank you for doing it. If you can do respond, its been nice this morning to see what peoples responses are to the question. I do have to say that these are my own thoughts just externalised and I in no way meant to offend anyone at all with what I've said. I hope it all wasn't offensive and made some sense...
