opinion on love at first sight: a mixture of “I don’t think it works like that” and “if they are happy I don’t really care.”
how ‘ romantic ’ are they?: romance is a tricky thing for him, he does not know about it yet, never experienced the desire to be romantically involved with anyone, never felt any attraction that was not solely based on his hormonal teenager body but, if he’s in love, he can be affectionate and sometimes even sappy without being aware of it. He’s oblivious to his own cheesiness just casually saying things like “Your smile means the world to me” or stuff alike. Yep thats Todoroki for you. Oblivious as fuck.

ideal personality traits: He needs someone he will be able to rely on. he likes people who speak their mind. Who let him know what he’s at without having to do much guessing because lets be honest. He sucks at guessing and readin the social cues. People who are communicative are preferred because it gives him enough reassurance to not overthink everything his partner does. Someone he can trust. Someone who’s able to understand that he’s struggling with his emotions, with his feelings about himself, his family, his lover. Who is willing to put up with the pile of broken shards that is his past. Shoto needs someone who is able to knock sense into him if necessary and shove him into the right direction but also give him space when he requests it. Someone who will teach him how to stand up for himself and not just for others. Someone who’s strong enough to hold his hand unafraid of getting burned. Sorry for the ramble.

unattractive personality traits: People who are imposing their ideals on others or typical drama queens. Guys and girls alike who play a damsel in distress for him to chase after. The princess types in general. Who pretend to be so weak and breakable and expect him to be strong all the time. People who would try to make him jealous on purpose because it f*cks with his trust issues. Those who beat around the bush a lot because it will annoy him sooner or later, who make him second guess everything.
ideal date: Honestly? You don’t have to take him out for a fancy dinner or anything like that. Just some home-made food a nice movie and some cuddles are more than enough for him. Spending time with his special someone always outweighs everything else. It does not matter what kind. Want to walk side by side in the park during sunset? Fine. Want to go kick each others ass in the gym until you both drop dead? Perfectly fine as well. He’ll love whatever if that means his other half is happy. (No pun intended).

Headcanons || Todoroki Shoto || Canon Verse: Number 1
01. So I feel like Todoroki really is a very kindhearted person, this is less of a headcanon and more of a interpretation of what had been said in the manga so far. I feel like he’s suppressed parts of himself for the bigger part of his life, he spend so many years trying to extinguish his feelings and make himself numb to anything that was even remotely about getting attached while he is in fact someone with a heart of gold even if its still trapped in a thick layer of ice. I feel like he just needs someone to melt through it, slowly and steadily because oh boi he has so much love to give once he’s able to understand the concept of it.
02. This one is more random. I do headcanon that if Todoroki actually catches a cold, a serious cold that is, he will be low-key to very dangerous for the people around him. If they aren't being cautious and take a safety distance step away from him when they notice that he's about to sneeze? Not a good thing to do. Sudden sneezes combined with trouble to control his body temperature? Sounds like a mine field to walk next to to be quite honest. Please be careful everyone.
03. Please let me know if this is weird but, like I’ve already mention in my adult verse post, I kinda get the feeling that Todoroki will care less and less for the number-one-hero-spot-thing. Not even remotely as much as Bakugo or Midoriya do. Like this "overcome All-Might" is something that is vastly inflicted by his father (and that’s another topic entirely) but with everything that happened, I think he doesn't care about it anymore. He wants to be a hero yes, but he does not give a shit about ranks, he just wants to help and protect the people in need and ultimately use his powers for good.
04. This is one of my favorites so far. So I know Todoroki is usually very polite even if very direct in what he says but I think that might change. The more Todoroki grows comfortable around all of them, his classmates, other students, his friends, the less he will be overly polite/reserved. He is going to smile a lot more and hold back a little less. I think that throughout his second year he'll show that he can be outright sassy if he wants to, with some burning comments for people who annoy him. Prepare to apply cold water to burned area!

Headcanons || Todoroki Shoto || Canon Verse: Number 2
Holiday Editon:
1. Todoroki does not really care for christmas or any other holiday yet. He might warm up to all of it after some time but its still fairly a lot to take in considering that he spend most of his holidays alone or training. I mean, Yes this one might seem obvious but for me its actually something I spend some thoughts on. Its not like he hates it, far from it, he likes seeing others happy and excited but he’s mostly indifferent about it. Keyword: mostly because this goes hand in hand with HC #2 2. Seeing others happy makes him happy. This is not just about presents this is about relationships as well. All kinds of relationships no matter if romantic or platonic. Todoroki is just a very kindhearted person who barely wants anything for himself. He has no wishes or something like that. He’s simply not used to it but, he’s very very observant and when he goes to get someone a present he thinks it over and over and over again. Shoto has seen so much suffering. Seeing the people he cares about happy instead, makes him happy too and for him that’s already more than enough. He would never ask for anything in return.
3. Todoroki does not go home for the holidays if he doesn’t have have to. Like whatever holiday comes up, he rather stays in the dorms on his own if he has to than to go home. Even after the recent happenings (I’m going to keep this vague for spoiler reasons) he will try to avoid spending too much time at the place he’s cursed to call home. He does not hate it but if he’s able to choose, he rather chooses the calm- and quietness of the dorm. He’s not aware that he feels lonely sometimes and does not really care about it either... Ple
