OLD MADISONVILLE ROAD: THE KELLY-HOPKINSVILLE ENCOUNTER - Kelly, Kentucky. It was down this road - Old Madisonville Road - where a frightened family fled a farm (which was located on the right beyond the trees) that was besieged by bizarre, bug-eyed "goblins" believed to be from Outer Space! On the night of August 21, 1955 Billy Ray Taylor saw a strange, "saucer-shaped" craft while drawing water from the Sutton farm well. After notifying family members of his close encounter, a group of weird "three foot-tall, silvery creatures" exited the woods and began to harass those inside the house (peering through windows and climbing on the roof). Gunfire erupted for hours as the frightened farm folk shot at the beings with no effect. At the first opportunity, the family fled the farm to report the "invasion" to authorities in Hopkinsville. The resulting investigation and media attention launched the "Goblin Encounter" into the realm of famous unexplained UFO cases. Each August, Kelly celebrates the "Kelly-Hopkinsville Goblin Encounter" - in the field (on the right) next to the famous encounter site - during it's "Little Green Men Days" UFO Festival. The 2017 LGM Days Fest should be more spectacular as it takes place during the Great North American Solar Eclipse - on the anniversary date of the legendary alien visitation - with the encounter site being the epicenter of peak totality duration. This year's alien celebration will, undoubtedly, prove to be a truly unique "Extra-Celestial Event."
