JANE: First and foremost, I would like to formally apologize for my behavior.
JANE: While discussing with Tina, I realized that maybe I took my method acting a bit too far. Nothing should get in the way of me being a good feminist--even a role in a musical.
JANE: Congratulations on getting Regina, by the way.
JANE: And as proof of my truce, I won't be joining glee club just to spite you.

When Jane had arrived to the party, she was clearly out of place. If there were spotlights, the one on her would be labeled ‘she doesn’t even go here.’ That simple fact was enough to take away all of her previously built up courage that came from her outfit and turn her back into the somewhat meek wannabe she’d been since the beginning. As her arms wrapped around her exposed midriff, she almost laughed at how ridiculous she was. How could she ever think to pull of Regina if she couldn’t even show off her figure?
No matter how much she wanted to leave, Jane knew she couldn’t. She knew that if she did, not only would it embarrass herself, but also Bree and there was nothing in this world that Jane could be promised that would make her want to get on her cousin’s bad side. Except maybe front row Janelle Monae tickets.
Attempting to show off her borrowed outfit, Jane was only able to take two steps before a football flew at her. She threw her arms up and stepped back out of the way, bumping into someone. With the pigskin threat no longer a concern--at least for right now, Jane turned to apologize when her words died in her throat. Standing directly in front of her was none other than Rachel Berry. The last time they’d been in the same vicinity was during a tutoring session and their last conversation was something she found herself highly embarrassed about as it was less than friendly and truthfully one of her lowest points in a conversation yet. However much time had passed and however remorseful she currently felt, she was still a little upset about the words they’d thrown at each other. Taking a deep breath and putting a civil enough smile, Jane nodded in greeting. “Rachel.”

Okay, I’ll bite. Why are you mortified?
